Loves to win, and gets mad when his team cant perform. Thats what you want in a player.

Will come out breathing fire when we play Norf.
Wonder how this will go with Capt’n ‘living life’ and coach ‘we’ll keep trying’ and Pres ‘remember when we played that good third quarter’

Made him sign a 6 year deal so when he realises what he's signed up for we can trade him for a kings ransom. Big brain.

Just googling his "petulant" behaviour.
No doubt he stuffed up, flying home, a training issue which was a problem for a few players.
Cripps on radio today mentioned that he hates losing which was one of the sources of his frustration. In this article Bryce Gibbs who knows JHF and played with him at South had this to say.

Horne-Francis’ body language during games was criticised throughout the year and Gibbs sensed the youngster was frustrated at being part of so many “deplorable” performances from the Kangaroos.

“He’s one of the most competitive players I’ve ever seen,” Gibbs said.

“I think that body language and some of the frustration towards his teammates was a great sign of him saying, ‘This is not acceptable, this isn’t what we should be dishing up’.

Tldr. Basically the bloke hated being a loser.

It's consistent with Ollie Wines. I can remember Hinkley talking about him in 2013 when he was the sub (and apparently very unhappy about it). He has had steam coming out of his ears at various points when the team played poorly and was visibly in tears when he had the poor year as captain after making 4-5 bad mistakes in a game. To get into the AFL, they have to make AFL their life, and be ultra-competitive. This has been his life for the last 3-5 years and he's getting flogged by 10 goals every week, feeling like he isn't playing his best football. Also getting critiqued in the media for not picking his nose correctly. It's been discussed in cricketing circles that Shane Watson was absolutely savage on himself ... to his detriment. We had it with Charlie Dixon and he needed to find an outlet to start enjoying football again. We have a core group of really good young men, and some very mature mentors that can help him get to the stage Wines is at now where he gets the best out of himself without the internalized pressure.

Theres a lot of deeply troubled people on the Norf board, people who could do with professional help.

They follow Norf can you blame them?

The only good thing about that club is that they had the cool looking bouncing kangaroo guernsey.

That’s how I always saw his “issues”. That pit of a club wanted him to save them but too many spectators in norf.

you watch Boaky take him under his wing and turn him into something special. norf has fkkk all leadership 😂
Yes, perennial winner travis boak.

At the end of that presser Davies was asked about someone coming in either through a trade or as a delisted free agent who was that he mentioned? I couldn't make it out

He said Frankie Evans wants to come to Port and we want him. Either through trade or DFA.

You the mean hardest working, most committed player in the competition.

Petracca at the Brownlow commented on the influence Trav has had on him and they're not even at the same club!

The most workery hardery for the longestry

I love trav, but he's been a let down when the chips are down.

Was interesting when the Showdown was mentioned and JHF's demeanour honed to a razor's edge just briefly.

Thinks he's going to enjoy those games like Robbie Gray did.

Boak and Gray have been incredible senior figures over the last decade, but the thing separating them from true champion leaders like Hodge, Mitchell, Cotchin and Reiwoldt (to pick a few names) is that they couldn't stand up and take the chance for the side when it was there to be taken.

Hopefully in our next generation we have a few that are so desperate to win that they will their side over the line in tough finals. Horne-Francis is about as likely a kid as you could pick to be that.

How about Wines?
