How can anyone call him slow, I'm still baffled by that. He certainly has a flat foot look to him, a bit like Williams, but geez when he goes, he goes quick. I wouldn't have thought pace is a concern at all.
He's clearly an amazing player!

So glad we have him, amazing that some people can't (or refuse to) see it!

Im quite happy for him to quietly go about developing his game into something truly substantial while a few others grab all the headlines thrilling the 10-second concentration span crowd.

Just a joy watching JHF go about it on the footy field. And unlike so many anointed before him, this guy will be captain.
In any other era with any other PAFC admin I'd agree.

I'd honestly consider making him captain from next year. Definitely VC.

This admin don't value what we value though. Koch will think he is too rough around the edges.

Josh Carr would love him. Same relentless uncompromising desire to win. And willingness to play hard nosed in your face football.

People saying SPP should be skipper.
Have you heard him speak on tv?
Kochie would be apoplectic that he doesn't bring the consumate eastern suburbs/eastern seaboard, private school class and savoire-faire to his pressers.
Too wharfie oafish for David's liking.

Us fans however................. SPP =:thumbsu:

Probably under a new coach, I could see him getting into the leadership group next year or the year after, if he keeps tracking the way he is. Ken has probably made too many close connections with too many other players that parachuting JHF in might make those connections a bit shaky.

Nah, has some maturing to do first. As much as he's still developing and being unfairly targeted by media, you wouldn't want a leader giving up on defensive chases like JHF has been doing.

I’ve seen some stuff from our leaders that have been pretty average. Do we know that some of those given up defensive chases aren’t in some way related to his off season surgery?

I think his chasing has been way overplayed.

It's totally normal for a 19 year old not to be up to full AFL fitness, even without considering his injuries last year and off season surgery.

A few recent draftees who have been elite runners from the get go are the exception rather than the norm.

I wouldn't be surprised if that area of his game has improved significantly by the end of the year, let alone next year.

I am sure if David King could be bothered to scour every minute of footage from every other AFL player he could come up with as many non-chases as he has highlighted on JHF. Its just that no other kid has ever Rustled his Jimmies like our boy.

Didn't know where else to put this. I met Jason's Dad today (biological, not his stepdad Fabian). Not sure what his first name is. He was one of the removalists helping my sister's family move house today lol. He was saying he's a Crows fan and couldn't really stand Port 🤣 But watching his son play, he said Port are growing on him a bit. But he said you ruined his favourite song :p Seemed like a nice bloke - it was his birthday as well, he was about to clock off and hoped he would be ready in time for the game. :)

Read the last page or 2 on the Norf board re death riding. Brilliant. He has particular ownership of the the tales poster who seems to have to try to concoct fairy tales about how everyone hates him, I assume so he can sleep at night.

Fantastic 4th quarter when the game was on the line. His fend off ability is nearing Dusty level comparisons. Rarely gets caught holding the ball.

Great to see everyone give him a standing ovation in the last term as well to counter the toxic Norf fans.
The drowning out of the JHF booing was the highlight of the night
