MARK MY WORDS - this 3 way deal is all about West Coast trying to prise Georgiades off of us and there is no goodwill to get this deal done just 2 clubs trying to bend us over instead of one.

We are better to deal with just Norf. I go back to my first post my opening position is G*t F***ed.

If Norf want a Top 5 pick then take our offer and negotiate for it yourself or we can come back in 12 months.

Jeezus the JHF thread on the draft board is a pile of shît.
EBERT THE FLOG dropping crap like its gospel.

What I don't understand is that why Norf would be prepared to take 2 and 20ish while they have rejected 8, a future first and mid ranked player.

They are going backwards and West Coast comes out better than anyone by dealing with them.

Hence my belief they may wait for us to do the deal with West Coast then ask for more Oliver style.
Having picks 1&2 this year gives them maximum flexibility this year. Deep down they know they have another top 4 pick next year.

Port's next year's pick will probably be in the 10 to 15 range. The player that they can get at 2 probably is a lot better than 8 and may also cover most of the output of a player they get from our first pick next year, and the player they take with pick 20ish this year could make up that output difference.

Georgiades and 33 or 43 to west coast.
West coast first pick 2022 to North
West coast Rioli to Port
Ports first or future first to North
North JHF to port.

Would do that, have Finlayson, Lord, Teakle, Hayes, Visenti, maybe even Dylan Williams (very good overhead) as well as Marshall and Dixon, who could play a forward role.

Not to mention delaying your rebuild by an extra year by shifting the weight of picks to 2022

Yeah, I mean, it’s obviously a long road for them regardless, but selling your club down the river for what was effectively an extra top-5 pick at best (ended up being 5) is a very long bow to draw.

They'll come for Georgy and piss in his manager's ear every year like we do with players of interest.. it doesn't mean you get them

Once the AFL turned trade week into trade fortnight, they gave clubs the chance to dither around for another week trying to squeeze out that tiny bit extra.

If this is done before Tuesday next week, I for one will be mighty surprised.

In the meantime, here's a cracked Adam Cooney trade to keep you entertained. And bear in mind, at least one Eagles supporter thought this was Port making out like bandits.

Would be nice if the so called experts new the rules.

WTF is that?

Not only do we get rogered but North get Duursma and a future second on top of pick two, for their pick one who wants out and, let's be honest, would have been pick two to Nick Daicos if he wasn't a father son.

This bend us over crap for JHF has gone too far. Wait twelve months and take him for a single first rounder for all I care.

:tearsofjoy:

The idea, all told, that it was a can’t miss smorgasbord of high picks they were silly to refuse over and above what they had, is the magic beans component.

You have the best kid in the country as the fulcrum of your rebuild and instant platform to sell an extra 5,000 memberships and countless guernseys worth of hope, and the probability that you’ll be picking high again the next year — and this is before we consider the cultural and existential ramifications of being known as a club that refuses to back itself in to attract/retain elite talent.

So as of Nov 2021 the options were:

2021/Pick 1
2022/R2 (probable 19-21)

versus

2021/Pick 4
2022/R1/ADL (probable 2-7)
2022/R1/MEL (probable 15-18)

Combined with the probability that they’d be picking at 1-3 in 2022, all told, where’s the payoff there?

Not taking the kid who was obviously the biggest flight risk of all time who plays in a position you’ve stocked up in for the last several drafts and taking the option that gives you multiple high draft picks that are Victorian and the chance to fill the many other list holes.

They desperately need class, skilled players, forwards both tall and small and so on.

I was stoked they didn’t take the deal, it meant we were a strong chance to get him back.

At the time I took issue with the reporting of it being 3 first rounders, it wasn’t exactly reporting the details, as it was 2 high 1sts and an upgrade to a first rounder, but yeah, hindsight says they should have taken it, but hindsight?

Everyone knew this was coming. The Roos were just silly enough to think they were a Collingwood type club that could stop it and convince him to stay

That level of insane toxicity is the main board thread on this trade it’s not worth it anymore

Norf fans have gone off the deep end
Yeh I was going in there to see if any genuine discussion and thoughts but have given up now. Is an absolute cesspool of morons and kids on school holidays.

Port are winners, they need to be bent over more than pick 8, a future first, a future second and a highly rated first round pick from 4 years ago. 3 firsts and a second is not being bent over. I swear people completely lose their minds this time of year. Unfortunately all of the north fans are now just trying to direct their anger at us and are just being pathetic.

So Horne-Francis' value last year was pick 1 and despite doing next to nothing in his debut season his value is now pick 2, a future second round pick and Xavier Duursma.

SURE MATE
