Andrew Hamilton referencing the Facebook statuses of a known drug-dealer... My concern level is pretty minimal.
Hey young Rally, time you did a Hammo parody methinks.
Make it a good one too and get it out to the people:p

At what point will ANdrew Hamilton get sacked?? Also surely the editor should be gone as well for running with this crap. I swear all the Courier Mail does is try and destroy everything the Brisbane Lions do. It is a disgrace.

News Ltd have a big conflict of interest to bag the lions at any opportunity. He will probaly get a bonus.

The Lions received an irate phone call from the AFL in 2003 following the game.

Lol.

Ok fess up who was it?

Acuguy? Tassie4ever? irel? C'mon you veterans, I'm looking at you here. :D

Investigation 101: If the witness has low credibility, find a credible corroborating witness who is prepared to go on-the-record.

Hammo will get away with publishing though, because no individuals are identifiable to say that any damage has been done and companies can't sue for libel.

From today's article:
"The AFL confirmed the League's integrity officer Brett Clothier will also investigate a 2003 game involving the Lions with regards to match-fixing claims.
The Lions received an irate phone call from the AFL in 2003 following the game."

Any ideas as to which game?

"Match Fixing" really alludes to "deliberately losing and taking money to do so, or causing someone to win money from losing". Well let's not confuse that with tanking. And let's not confuse that with "deliberately winning" either!
And also, let's not confuse it with inside info as to a full back playing full forward and thus more likely to kick the first goal. Its closer to I think what they refer to in cricket as "spot fixing" - ie. the deliberate no ball on the second ball of the first over. "Spot Fixing" alludes to making an occurrence happen at a specific time in a game that doesn't necessarily change the result in the game.

PFK Conspiracy Theory Time!

Given that our co-captaincy was supposed to be announced this week, does anyone else suspect Hammo deliberately went searching random Facebook pages for anything he could find to try and ruin us?

I like it!

My theory is more wide spread. Considering the amount of Broncos membership signs surrounding the Gabba, I suggest the mighty organization that owns the Broncos AND the courier mail feel obliged to sling mud at the Lions ahead of the 25th year of the Broncos. Hammo is just following orders....tarnish Aussie Rules at one of the most vulnerable times in its history.

"The Lions received an irate phone call from the AFL in 2003 following the game."

Lol, even by Hammo standards, that is tenuous.

I just looked at all of our 2003 results - main season and pre-season cup. None of them jump out at all as suspicious. We got thumped by West Coast at home - but they always had the wood on us during this period for some reason.

I call B/S on the match-fixing in particular. It (as oppossed to spot fixing) is something that would be extremely hard to do in the AFL because of the number of players you would need - beyond that it would therefore be extremely hard to keep quiet.

Given we were still in the middle of our golden era it just seems like crap to me.
