I thought Ian was Gary's brother. The tragic murders of Gary Silk and Rodney Miller are a sad part of the fabric of the Hawthorn and St Kilda footy clubs.

To have such an honorable man on the board of the Hawks should ensure the memory of these two men will be firmly entrenching in the hearts and minds of the AFL community for generations.

From an outsider looking in - these sentiments are IMO 100% corrrect.
Knowing Kennett mind you he won't go quietly into the night. He's certainly had a re-calibration of his December 2017 2 flags in 5 years proclamation . Don't envy Sam's opening tenure with this dark shadow in the background. No doubt a new era at Hawks , and no doubt some medocre years ahead, but Kennett's a hangover from a previous time . An early XMas present for Mitchell would be a new incoming pres with new ideas and realistic expectations. Not sure if that will happen mind you
