Our commitment to finding money for the Dingley centre and staying in the positive each year I would say would have us very nervous with a deal that nets us 4-5 mill a year...

If Jeff throwing out that line helps us lock away another 3-4 year deal while the AFL continue to fumble and bumble over the idea of perhaps having a stand alone team down there one day then so be it.

Jeff plays the game better than anyone.
I reckon he’d play it a lot better if it was behind closed doors without baiting thousands of Hawthorn members, and empowering every AFL following troll to get some new breath into the “Hawthorn should relocate to tassie” sails.

But yeah, just for fun let’s pretend like he’s a wordsmith who’s smarter than everyone else, and doesn’t make a fool of himself and the club twice a year.

Jeff knows we are never relocating to Tassie, he just said it to protect the Tassie sponsorship.

But, that doesn't make it right. He could have said so many other things.

We really need to find a challenger for Jeff's role
Exactly this.

We’re not going anywhere, but somehow we have a president who’s decided that destabilizing the members trust in the direction of the club is a way of winning Tassie govt over.

The McGuire debacle at Collingwood shows the importance of moving an out of date President on before it’s too late. In my view that time already passed last year when he selfishly cost us millions just to score cheap online political points. But if he’s genuinely going to consider relocating the club, he must go and fast.

With McGuire gone he stands out clearly as the most embarrassing President in the comp.

It might have been a tactical comment - but **** me. Compare this ‘we’re the Tassie Hawks’ bullshit to someone like Brayshaw who dedicated himself to ensuring North stayed in Melbourne. I know what kind of person I want running the club.

We are NOT the Tassie Hawks. If we ever become the Tassie Hawks that'll be the last day I support this football club.

Jeff is the prick who sold off most of the state's infrastructre so I wouldn't put anything past him. He's outlived his usefulness at Hawthorn.

Talk about an over reaction.

JK has been playing the media game longer than some of us have been alive.

When you read his comments in full and in context it’s obvious what he’s trying to achieve.

We can debate his methods but there’s no doubting where JK’s heart is. He’ll be a Melbourne and Hawks man until the day he dies. Everything he does has Hawthorns best interests at heart. In this current climate I’m happy for him to scrap for every dollar he can get.

He was pro merger in 96

I'm usually on Jeff's side but this goes too far for me. We can brand ourselves anyway they want that's best for the clubs finances and I don't mind the games in Tassie but we are the Hawthorn Hawks and I don't care if the offer a fully funded training base and a squintillion dollars a year I will most likely give up on Aussie rules.

It’s the sentiment though. How many other clubs have presidents who publicly claim they’re open to relocate? He can be coy with the Tasmanian government without acting as though he has no qualms pissing on the heritage of the club he supposedly leads.

Bullshit. Taking potshots at Daniel Andrews which cost us Dingley funding was NOT having Hawthorn's best interests at heart.

Promoting Jeff Kennett has always been Jeff Kennett's #1 priority.

Yep. Kennett’s gas-lit supporters (like McGuire’s) insist on telling others not to listen to what they actually say but instead to look for magical hidden meanings and agendas in the stupid things that they say.

Our President just said he’d consider relocating the club. What other President would so overtly disrespect their club, it’s history and it’s members by saying that publicly?

Like Mcguire, he has had his successes as President. But he has stayed too long and is well past his expiry date. He is hurting the club these days

''Based on the information I have, I still say, as a Hawthorn supporter, a merge is the best option,''

Didn’t say he’s always right, didn’t realise that was still a hanging offence after 25 years

Well he referred to us as a completely different team name today and said we shouldn’t rule out relocation - his pro-merger comments tend to become relevant off the back of that performance.

No way in hell are you guys moving to Tasmania. You are too successful a club. Norf would be shipped off before you lot ever were.

Kennett needs a kick up the arse.

A hanging offence? Ok matey, nobody said that. Way to reuse someone's argument with hyperbole.

You can’t mention this without acknowledging he got the same amount from the liberal government. To act like he “cost us” is bullshit.

If he’s the polished media performer that you think he is, he’d be able to wrangle dollars out of the Tassie government without pissing off half the membership base with talk of relocation.
