potential isn't worth $1m a year. If Cameron can goto another club for $1m a season for 5 years then he should do that, he could do his ACL tomorrow and his agility is gone.

the Trent Croad deal would be relatively similar.

... potential?

2nd in the Coleman last year... All-Australian Status.. that's not potential. That's called delivering.

Learn the difference.

As much as St Kilda need a new young forward with Riewoldt getting on and Stanley useless, I don't think you can afford to trade your best young midfielder and pick 2/3 who could be another gun midfielder or a KPF anyway

This is true for more clubs than St Kilda...

Dogs have midfielders to spare, but will GWS want more young, talented midfielders ?? It's not like they are short of them. They need KPD's... Dogs only really have one young KPD that's best 22 week in, week out. Will we trade him ? Unlikely - we'll just be robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Demons have an ageing midfield, although a few young kids coming up. Can they afford not to take a young midfielder this year ? They'll want to replace Vince, Cross and Jones before too long....

Brisbane have major issues that will take a few drafts to fix. Would a Rockliff plus pick work for GWS ? Does seem to fill a real need for GWS. Other than that it's mostly talented kids that Brisbane would offer, similar to the Dogs.

Blues don't have KPD's - would you trade Murphy and/or Henderson plus picks ?? Bombers have a couple, but would they trade Hurley and a pick for Cameron ?

he hasn't set the world on fire this year. He was the sole target in attack last year. While he had a great year, he is no Buddy Franklin who is on similar kind of money.
Yeah Cameron can take contested marks regularly.

Will be a bigger frenzy then the Judd trade.

Agree. I reckon the footy media even then was a shadow of what it is now. It would be like blood in the water.

Hutchy might even bring the wheelie bin out of retirement.

If Naitanui can command $800k-$1M based on what he's shown, then Cameron is easily worth $1M. Cameron is worth most clubs best player and their first draft pick on top of a $1M/pa contract.

Not sure who Carlton could/would offer up to entice a trade though unfortunately.

Not sure what else he was going to say when they stuck a camera in his face and said "lets do an interview for the club website"? Unless he was the one who initiated the interview of course.
Certainly, and obviously other players have said the same sort of thing only to bolt later- but I'm impressed that the club bothered to get something up there relatively quickly.

To be fair it's only been 2012-2013 Buddy struggled with marking due to his hand injury, that seems to have passed and now he is clunking them like he was a few years back. Jeremy Cameron doesn't have the right to tie Buddys shoe laces as we stand here today.

Does anyone actually think Jeremy Cameron will want to go to a minnow club in Victoria? Just can't see him pulling on a Doggies jumper or a NM jumper, perhaps Melbourne are a chance should they continue to improve but you'd think he would want to play in a side capable of competing at the top.

Just curious but why are people offering up Free agents as trade bait?

Are you new here ?? Typically, in these situations, people offer up really good, attractive deals for premium quality players.

Case 1: L Franklin - we'll offer up two guys we delisted last week, our third round pick and a swap of fourth round picks.
Case 2: J Cameron - fringe player 1 (downhill skier), plus fringe player 2 (slow and consistently injured) + mid first round pick - should be good enough.

This is known as 'fair bargaining' and is considered a legal trade in 12 countries.... :p It's also what dealing with Essendon at trade time is like....

If this scares you, don't venture to the Drafts and Trading Board from September onwards........ It's not safe or sane in anyway......

We used/offered Dal Santo in a similar regard last year when negotiating to get Luke Delaney from North. If they hadn't agreed to basically give Delaney to us for a bag of chips, I dare say we wouldn't have let Dal go for just the free agency compo pick (25) that we ended up getting for losing him.

Cameron would make a huge difference to our side and would probably instantly lift us towards the bottom end of the 8. Maybe not into it, but with improvement in our kids we could be a couple of years ahead in our rebuild just from his arrival. Obviously this depends on his interest for such a role in a rebuild and also what we'd lose to get hold of him....

But I agree, he'll want to go to a big club I suspect. We'll see more and more of this in coming years IMO......
