Not even close to getting a deal done.

It will take top 10 draft pick and solid A grader or even two. Plus Cameron would have to want to go. If he's fed up with a lack of success, he's not going to want to go to Saints. My money is on the pies to get the deal done.
With what and on what coin? Don't see how a contending team could afford him

How is the Saints my team? Was talking about Jake Carlile. However as I have said we are long shots, Geelong probably have the cards in terms of depth players that could get it done, Hawks have the money. We are dead set 20-1 at that is at best!

This is why the AFL let them keep the extra million in their salary cap + the new rent allowance.
Not enough. They haven't even begun to show the sort of upward trajectory of the Poachers.

Yeah, I was quoting your example of Carlie and referring to another poster about the Saints. Apologies.

He could get whatever he wants in terms of money at GWS; he ain't leaving to be a part of another non-successful side. He's no Ablett or Judd in that he's already won a flag and happy/ready to take up the challenge. He's played in 45 matches and won 5. **** THAT!

No chance GWS trade him at the end of this year, they have to back themselves in to try get a deal done by the end of 2015.

Carlton, St Kilda and the Bulldogs will all go very hard at him and they should all have a top 3-8 pick to hand over, in addition to players. St Kilda will have plenty of cap room too if Riewoldt retires at the end of next year.

Essendon obviously will have no chance of landing him so suggestions of a trade for Carlisle are pointless.

Would Geelong entertain the trade? Quick question but a tough answer I guess? Would you give a first rounder and a good player for him?

He wants success...why is he going to the Bulldogs and the Saints again? How many flags have those two sides won? No disrespect but they are buckleys chance. Carlton maybe and they will go all out for him, so will Collingwood.

As for Essendon, I am against trading Jake Carlile BUT if it is for Cameron we would do it. However as I have said, we are long shots.

Instant Mitch Clark replacement!

Trade Cameron for Frawley? Come on GWS you know you want to!

Seriously though this would be a disaster for GWS. Could the league block the trade like the NBA did with Chris Paul?

Andrew will someone how try and manipulate a block - as it affects his legacy.
If GWS fails, Vlad looks like a bigger muppet than he already is - if that is possible.

Because realistically it's the only way a deal will get done, how is a contending club that is aiming for a flag able to give up the required picks or players?

Didn't really answer my question though
Hmm, as regards cash it would have to be a 6 year deal and then one of those years they blow it out to 2.5 million or something stupid. A team with a lot of veterans retiring in a couple of years might make it work.

To get him: I think it would honestly take like 3 solid players. E.g. from Geelong it would be someone like Duncan and then a couple of others I guess. As others have said the big factor is trying to convince players to go to GWS.

Sorry, I'm all giddy at the thought of the possibility it might be possible to get him. I'm not thinking straight.

I think any club seriously has to considering going for it. Having him alongside Hawkins would be out of this world. I think it would take someone like Duncan, pick 15 and maybe an up and comer to get the deal done. It's in GWS' best interest to deal otherwise he walks for naught.

Only clubs that realistically could get it done would be Blues, Crows or Dees. Assuming they finish down the bottom of the ladder and Gibbs, Danger or Frawley walk, leaving them with picks 7&8 (or something like that) that they can then trade for Cameron.

Depends what GWS want.

What if they came to you and said Joel Selwood and Horlin Smith and he's yours?

You can build a team around a Cameron, those kind players come along very rarely.

Jesus you make it tough, but in all honesty... Selwood, Harry Taylor and Hawkins (maybe Motlop) are about the three untouchables. Would never trade my 3x flag winning captain for anything. But yeah...shit...

You'd let Hawkins and Motlop go...

As I said earlier in the thread, I would drive Andrew Swallow and Ryan Bastinac to the airport myself in return for J.Cameron.

And that's our captain and a good established midfielder with another 8-10 years in him.

Maybe its just me and Cameron, but FFS, the kid is unbelievable.

Giants wouldn't do that.
