What else are you throwing in there? Even with last year's version of Carlisle you are looking at 2 different classes of player.

Who knows, Carlile would be the starting point though. Possibly Carlile + 18 for Cameron + (GWS's 3rd rounder)....something along those lines, however we are dead set long shots.

Our end of first round pick for starters.

Having said that, Carlisle was a target for GWS to trade for pick one just last trade period...

GREATER Western Sydney says Tom Boyd is firmly on the table, adamant Victorian rivals didn't try to secure brilliant teens Jaeger O'Meara and Jack Martin.
Most Victorian clubs have not bothered offering package deals for the no.1 pick selection which GWS could use to acquire Victorian forward Boyd.

But the Giants are determined to lure a young established star, and would even consider handing over pick 1 and their first-round compensation pick (pick 9) for the right package.

Those in the GWS sights include Essendon's Jake Carlisle, West Coast’s Nic Naitanui and Fremantle's Nathan Fyfe.

Hmm, a deal involving Cameron for Carlisle could be a real possibility - especially if GWS want a young KPD and Essendon KPF.

Could be a win/win.

You'd need to chuck in more than that.

I honestly can't think of anyone who would command a higher price on the open market than Cameron. O'Meara might match him.

But as the old wisdom has it, gun KPFs are the rarest breed of them all and Cameron is the best (on potential) I've seen since Carey.

Though interestingly, if the "bad thing" happens to Essendon, you could actually be best placed to snare him depending on how many drafts you get kicked out of.

But when you consider what Carlton had to give up for Judd. Hmmm.

GWS couldn't possibly keep all three of Patton, Cameron and Boyd. One was always going to walk due due to lack of opportunity. Maybe they should force the issue and make the most out of things whilst they have maximum leverage, i.e. a contracted player.

Edit to add: management holding out and demanding to understand list management strategy is bullshit. The plan is blatantly clear - load up on the competition's best young talent thanks to a compromised draft and let them bloom.

Not even close to getting a deal done.

It will take top 10 draft pick and solid A grader or even two. Plus Cameron would have to want to go. If he's fed up with a lack of success, he's not going to want to go to Saints. My money is on the pies to get the deal done.

Melbourne would be able to get a deal done, depending where we finish something along the lines of pick 3 + 4 (Frawley compo) would be plenty. We also have the cap space. Given every Vic club will want him, it's unlikely he'd want to come here, certainly not as a first-choice destination. We aren't a desirable club at all. Players like Taylor Adams didn't even want to speak with Melbourne last year and he's not fit to tie Cameron's bootlaces. I also think Roos would see those draft picks better used on more midfielders. It's going to be pretty hard for Cameron to nominate a good club, with cap space, and draft picks readily available so I'd have to say we're a sneaky chance if we're keen.

Not to mention the players that they will ask for actually want to get traded and go to GWS.

Only clubs that realistically could get it done would be Blues, Crows or Dees. Assuming they finish down the bottom of the ladder and Gibbs, Danger or Frawley walk, leaving them with picks 7&8 (or something like that) that they can then trade for Cameron.
