Even better though, while everyone else is distracted by the Cameron hoo hah, I'd much rather North got in the ear of Jono O'Rourke and/or Adam Tomlinson and tried to get them on the cheap.

shepp MaddAdam Jesus you're probably both right... just the thought that he might possibly be available...

and well we are the closest club to his house.

Because realistically it's the only way a deal will get done, how is a contending club that is aiming for a flag able to give up the required picks or players?

The same way Hawthorn managed to do it with Burgoyne. Trade up and go from there!

I think any club seriously has to considering going for it. Having him alongside Hawkins would be out of this world. I think it would take someone like Duncan, pick 15 and maybe an up and comer to get the deal done. It's in GWS' best interest to deal otherwise he walks for naught.

They might ask for Christensen though, now that would be an interesting decision for Geelong, he is a gun no doubt but could you 'survive' with one of Motlop/AC...probably.

Yeah, probably not. But it does illustrate his value in terms of what I'd give up.

For that to have any chance, Bastinac would have to cement his spot in the starting 18 and Swallow would need to prove he can reach his pre-achilles standards.

I think for North, you'd almost have to package up Ziebell or Thompson with an Atley/Mullet.

Halligan? try maybe a Bruest + first rounder to even get them to listen.

Why the heck do they need MORE forwards, they already have a zillion of them! It is the reason GWS are in a hole- they have screwed up drafting so many talls. As I said you asked what top side had the cap space, all I have said is Hawthorn do. Now will they get the trade done, I don't know.

Either way it's gonna be one hell of a Sophie's Choice situation for whichever club wants to get him.

Bruest is quality and is more of a small roving forward anyways was just simply plucking out a players name that could be involved.

It'll be a case of who's willing to give up the most.

Unless he indicates his preferred destination and GWS are nice enough to try get a deal done with that club. Unlikely I would've thought. He's their biggest drawcard and everyone's going to go after him.

I seriously think he'll nominate one or two clubs and go from there. Simply, because he can.

He will nominate a club, the deal will get done, doubt you would be involving a Bruest type though. GWS need some more class in the middle. They sort of have Devon Smith that plays a similar role to Bruest. I do rate Devon Smith actually.

Franklin and Tippet are both getting on!

Would absolute laugh my you know what off....although to be fair of all the clubs they actually DO have some players that they could trade.

Would happily make up a package that includes

Jameson (selling him as their answer in defence)
Watson (another defender)
Kruezer
Garlett
Our first round pick

Obviously not all of that, but I think Jameson + our first pick with some steak knives could be sold as a good answer to their defence issues

Carlton could then play Henderson in defence and Cameron forward

Gibbs might be your ticket as well, Gibbs + (pick 5-7) could be around the top mark.
