Can’t see melbourne accepting a future 1st. Think Freo wold have to hand their pick over to even get the ball rolling (6 after lynch compo). Melbourne will want something to help them push towards the top next year.
I'd argue Brisbane and Freo both paying overs, but they'd need to.
Might be more:
Brisbane Lose: Pick 5 and Pick 22
Fremantle Get: Hogan and pick 22
Fremantle Lose: Neale and 1st 2019
Melbourne Get: 2019 1st and May
Melbourne Lose: Hogan
Gold Coast Get: Pick 5
Gold Coast Lose: May
Slight adjustment.
No Melbourne get pick with May that highBrisbane Get: Neale
Brisbane Lose: Pick 5 and 2019 1st
Fremantle Get: Hogan
Fremantle Lose: Neale

Melbourne Lose: Hogan
Gold Coast Get: Pick 5
Gold Coast Lose: May
Who is being ripped off here (Melb for mine and maybe a little GC with only pick 5 for May) Maybe Freo to chuck in next years 2nd round to Melb or GC
btw I actually think this is stupid and have stated before that I hope Hogan stays at Melbourne who have done right by him on so many levels. Just a bit of fun making up trades.
You’ve got Gold Coast receiving 5 and is also Brisbane losing pick 5? Either way melbourne would ask for Freos or Brisbane’s first instead of the future first. So they can go all out next year.Yes.
They do accept our pick 6 but it is ontraded to GC for May.
No Melbourne get pick with May that high
Freo
In: Hogan & Pick 5

Melbourne should offer Hogan a three year extension worth $3,000,000.

I’m saying Freo keep the 2019 first. My golly.
YES. I have exactly that. You do realise Melbourne need to pass the pick on to secure May??
They are given essentially 2 x firsts for Hogan. Keep the 2019 1st and ontrade the 2018 first from Brisbane.
Thought it was simple to read.
Assuming it nets us Steve May I'd probably settle for pick 5 or 6 or whatever it is that goes to the Suns and Ed Langdon.
Can we tempt Freo to take Dom Tyson for their 3rd round pick as well? They'll need ready made midfielders. Trade that to North for Preuss.
I’m saying Freo keep the 2019 first.
Instead cough up their pick and Brisbane’s pick and one of those gets Ontraded for May. I didn’t think it was that hard to understand.
This would be the worst deal, honestly.Melbourne
In: May
Out: Hogan
aWhy why Freo be worried about a high draft pick this year though? If you can get Hogan pull the trigger on that. Guess you could trade a future 2nd to GC to get a pick this year. Or try and squeeze it out of Brisbane maybe.Oh ok.
Well nah. We currently have pick 5 then 77. We'll need to hold onto some 2018 draft pick gains.
If we get 4 and 22 for Neale, cant give up 4 and 5 for Hogan. Still only have pick 22 and 77.
So we are to believe that Melbourne are going to offload the pick they get for Hogan, onto GC, in exchange for May? At least when the media make up rumors could they at least come up with a realistic trade scenario? There is a 3 year gulf between these guys (favoring Hogan). Hogan was twice the player May was this year, Hogan has twice the talent May has, and Hogan plays a FAR harder position than May, and, quality forwards are worth MORE. There is not a man born from his Mother that would straight swap Hogan for May, yet we are supposed to believe this trade is done. I have about had the media.
Totally agree, from memory we gave up pick 3 and pick 13 with 20 back and Dom Barry. He was 17 years old and not eligible to play AFL. So given his progress a minimum 2 early 1st rounders would be required for a to good to refuse trade. This would be the worst deal, honestly.
