So Smith, Perkins, Hobbs, et al, didn't have a sook to recruiters to remain at home and get cheered on by the Vic media? Conversely, Vic media don't berate and whinge whenever an interstate player wants to return home?

You clearly don't read/watch many external sporting news sources.

Can't say I blame you in this instance though, they're mostly trash.

Talks of "stability" are nonsense, to be frank. I suspect JHF had made his mind up before round 1. You never want to be bitter about a player because they leave your club, but I think North may have genuinely dodged a bullet by him going home. A lot of crazy stories have come out over the last week on his unprofessionalism, even for an 18 year old. A bit of a waste of last year's #1, but Port compensated us fairly imo.
 
A no.1 pick should be elite on all aspects of being a professional footballer. This guy was, is and will probably continue to be a complete jerk. It’s probably something in his nature I suppose, being a dickhead. Glad he’s gone, he’s a massive figjam. He can now go and yell and abuse
elder statesmen at Port like Boak and Jonas. He will now be targeted by opposition players no doubt so will be interesting to see if he wants to work hard or sook it up like he did at North.

Nathan missed out on 3 premierships including being on the losing end of two of them against his old team, let’s hope he continues the trend
 
I heard that JHF once scratched his arm against a tree and a black, foul-smelling liquid oozed out, and that when it touched the ground it scarred the land with a hissing sound akin to the screams of a thousand dying men. North are well rid of him IMO.

Buckley was one of the greatest players to ever lace a boot, and the one season he did player in Brisbane he won the rising star and came 2nd in the BnF.

JHF was dropped and looked like a 3rd round draft pick. Buckley also was one of the most determined players of all time.

Honest question

Would North have signed JHF if he wanted it written into his contract that he went to the club of his choice after 1 year?
Would North supporters have wanted him?

Not expecting any honest answers.

Ben jacobs waited two years and didn’t sook at all and asked for a trade which you rejected and put him through the draft, big difference to a sook who cried all year after saying he was happy to go to a team
 
You just knew he was NQR when he changed his name by deed poll from Jason Horne to Jason Horne-Francis days before the national draft in order to "honour" his wife-beating stepfather, Fabian Francis who was jailed for 15 months for repeatedly bashing his first wife over a 10 year period.

Your comparing 30 years ago. Times have changed dramatically.

Players undergo psych tests by the clubs before drafting these days. The problem is JHF wanted to be the big dog and go number 1, he strung North Melb along, had them believing he was in it for the long haul.

Buckley however , yes it was noted he was only going to Brisbane for 1 year still busted he’s balls every game for the Bears as that’s the sort of player he was. JHF at times looked disinterested, he is along way behind Nick Daicos in attitude and footballing ability.

In all honesty, North are probably glad to see the back of him, apparently a turd in the sheds as well and they’ve managed to get pick 2 and 3 which is a decent outcome. You can bet your bottom dollar that North will be drafting some Victorian lads this year.
 
To JHF's credit, leaving norf to go to South Australian norf is a pretty funny move

Im hearing on the rumour mill that there was a fair few North players ostracising JHF from the start, a little jealous of the attention he was getting.
Might be the same at Port Adelaide too, neither of the two clubs ever had the attention of a #1 before.
