I don't know whether to play that with a straight bat or not.
Kane has been consistently crap. Awarding for consistency aren't we?

FFS guys cant we celebrate the JC medal without the normal bullshit on this board?
This confuses me.
“Travis took his game to a new, more consistent level this season,” Primus said.
What.
His stats have stagnated if not gone backwards. If that's a new level, he's lost it.
Pure 12. Oh yeah.
As good a player as ive seen at Port Adelaide. Wonderful kick and a big game player.
Anyway, Macca, if you do a count-back of your votes, who did you think came out on top?
It really depends on the instructions players got before the game and how they performed according to these instructions, plus anything over and above.I wont say who won the bf voting but the votes i gave i had gray 1st, boak 2nd 12 votes behind gray and trengove 3rd 2 votes behind boak.
Trengove is a funny one because i think some overrate and some underrate his year. He was our clear best defender imo and our most consistent tall by a mile. Well deserved winner. Cant wait to see the breakdown of the voting though.
I like that we didn't give out any votes for the Hawthorn game...
I have to say I like the new system, or at least how it has been implemented. The coaches have set a standard and it is up to the players to reach it, votes won't be given out "just because", they are now as rare as hen's teeth.
Schulz was the only person to poll a 3 vote game (for his 8 goals against the Lions), the maximum possible is 4 votes.
So it shows that a) the coaches correctly didn't rate many of our players as having standout performances and b) psychologically, it provides incentives to have absolutely ball-tearing games (other than the obvious personal/team pride reasons.) If you could nab a 4 and 3 voter in one season you are well on the way to winning the award, as opposed to just being solid more often than not.
With this system, Primus and the coaches have clearly stated that the players need to step up if they wish to be recognised as great players competition-wide.
It really depends on the instructions players got before the game and how they performed according to these instructions, plus anything over and above.
Trengove has had a good year and along with Schulz has been our best tall. Westhoff was great before he got injured however I am not sure if he was great at the over and above stuff but average at the bread and butter stuff (instructions).
Trengove did well in the backline and was our best backup ruckman before Lobbe got in the team, plus he single headedly changed the first Showdown.
Boak has taken his game to a new level, stats are only good for supercoach competitions or whatever they are called.
In the past he was easy to shut down in some games and completely disappeared. This year he has been able to contribute in all games and sometimes at a very very high level.
Congratulations to both, well deserved.
What about the NT hey?
First Cadel and now Logan.
I was a bit surprised that Westhoff even polled one vote. I'm not too fussed with the winners. Gray was perhaps slightly more deserving but Trengove and Boak were definitely up there.
Then you're an idiot and exactly the type of annoying supporter who blindly hates on their whipping boy no matter what they do.

Well said, might consider making the first sentence my footer. Then you're the type of annoying supporter who picks a whipping boy and bags him no matter what he does, which is exactly the type of supporter who steps beyond the bounds of justified criticism and does more harm than good. You don't think his 4 goals against the reigning premiers, his Showdown medal winning performance against the Crows or his match-winning and spoon-saving last quarter against Melbourne was worth a B&F vote?
