Has been pretty good overall considering his initial value, plays his part generally ok
As we have an abundance of his types, should we now trade him with his old man’s club for a nicer player.
No disrespect intended as Noble has some traits.
You had me until you suggested North as a destination. I think FS coach player relationships are fraught with danger in professional sport especially for guys that sit outside the top 15 of a list. I also think North is the wrong fit because it would just be the same circumstance at a different club.

IMO, he needs to land somewhere like the scenario we recruited him for as a bottom 6 type running off wing/ HB. At a strong team like Port where he’s not asked to do much heavy lifting he’d be a better contributor than he is with us. The challenge we have is whether we keep him until we’re rising again and cop matches from him like Sunday’s or we move him on to try to find someone a little more reliable?..

I personally think Sidebottom’s cooked so I’d be using Noble exclusively on a wing in 2022 to see if we can eke more out of him without the need for defensive duties.
That’s the first positive thing I’ve ever read about Chugg!
It’ll be the last you read in this context. There’s zero chance Chugg moves past Noble because he’s literally the last player on our list!

Likewise I hope he… along with WHE, Madgen etc… is not considered best 22 by mid season

Likely on bugger all salary and Probably only worth a mid to late third round pick at best

So for that kind of paltry gain I figure we might as well keep him as he can play a few different roles and offers the squad ready made depth

Absolute nonsense, you really need to stop judging talent from the TV

Whilst we're batting deep with flankers this year, he's one of the few with genuine pace and in the age bracket we are short. I think he'll continue to gradually improve and become solid.

That's because you have never seen him live or train, it's hard spotting talent from the TV
I think that's sometimes true.

Eg. on tv you never realised how good Maxwell was at his best, because he was a bit sloppy. But live you realised how much ground he covered and how much he disrupted attacks by reading it, positioning himself so well and having that awesome closing speed.

But on tv you get a better close up of player actions in contests and their skills.

Live, I always end up watching the patterns more than the individuals and often can't really tell who starred - particularly with the inside guys.

By the by I have seen him live a number of times. I also fail to see how shank kicks and poor work defensively (trailing your man into contests and being out pointed 1 v 1) translate differently on TV to real life? I doubt you’ve watched him at all if you think there’s a snowflakes chance in hell he moves past Noble! To be clear he was delisted after one season and then the final player added to our list. He is literally the very bottom of the pile. That all said it fits given your support of Madgen.

Noble has indeed done very well since arriving and is a more than handy mid-aged player that knows how to find plenty of the ball, I would not be trading him anytime soon with so many kids on our list and a couple of hard running vets nearing retirement.

Noble still plays like a kid though… panics under pressure and moved off the ball easily even by smaller players…

That’s the first positive thing I’ve ever read about Chugg!

Chugg reminds me a little of Tooves when he first started insomuch as it’s not his general footy that catches your attention, it’s the 1%er type impacts. Whether that extends into his general footy as it did with Tooves is yet to be seen.

Yet Magden continues to get a game. If that's all your allegedly saw with chugg, then no wonder I don't value your talent ID. By the way, do you have a job?, you seem to be an expert on everything and are on here all day every day. Still think you haven't seen him live

It's unbelievable how people have a dislike for certain players and no matter what they do they see only negatives. Noble was fantastic last night. He ran his heart out, mopped up across half back and showed real courage in a couple of crunching tackles, something for which he has been maligned in the past. What the hell are people watching?

Have to agree, I’ve been a critic. But showed real improvement on last year let’s hope it sticks. St Kilda were very poor last night, will be interesting to see how he plays when pressure is on. Well done

People keep being 'surprised' when Noble plays good football, and yet he's been playing consistently decent footy since we picked him up.

Unsurprisingly to me, he's been settled in our 22 even though he --unlike Madgen-- doesn't fill a KPP requirement.

His deficiencies are always blown out of proportion, his virtues almost completely ignored.

Rusty early but got better as the game went on. Belongs on the wing, not half-back where his lack of size gets exposed. That said, there was a crucial moment deep in St Kilda’s 50 late in the game where Noble brought the footy to ground when the Saints had a 2-on-1 and I don’t really know how he managed that.

Solid 18-25 ranked player at every club I think.

Very much a reliable soldier who gives his all.
