Re: Darren Jolly is a Magpie.

Another two draft picks? What are the Swans going to do with all these picks?

6
14
28
38
46
47
54
70

Six picks in the top 50, eight in the top 70?

That one could be going to the Hawks for Kennedy and ?? which the Hawks could package with 9 to get Burgoyne.

Yeah... nah. The more shit that peanut called Rohde spins about Hawthorn the less we're probably going to offer you. Port have burned their bridges with Hawthorn over this bullshit deal. Can't imagine we'll ever be trying to trade with you again.

You mean after the Burgoyne deal is finalised? After 6 months of pi$$ing in Shaun's ear, you reckon the Hawks are going to walk away from this?

Re: Darren Jolly is a Magpie.

I think we paid slightly over, but still happy with the trade nevertheless.

Sydney fans who are dissapointed should remember nick davis for a 2nd round pick (he got you past Geelong virtually single handedly in a cut-throat semi final in your premiership year) and Rhyce Shaw who came 2nd in your B & F, for a 3rd round pick.

Now all Collingwood fans better hope like hell that Buckley encourages Malthouse to have a new high stoppage gameplan..............................that way Jolly can get plenty of taps in your games too!:D:D

I think we've done really well actually.

It won't be long before the Magpie supporters start giving Jolly a hard time for not doing enough to win games.
Their history is littered with the bagging of any ruckman that wears the black & white. Why would that stop with Jolly.

Oh yeah! He'll also be on 500K+ per year too as that was what we had to pay to get him to stay last time.

Yep! I think we've done REAL well out of both the Jolly trade & the Hall trade.

There ain't no guarantees that these 2 EX players will be a success at their new clubs. They have to both learn a whole new gameplan which will take plenty of time & they will both have to get to know the habits of their fellow players.
The first year will be one of much experimenting.
Have the supporters got the patience for that?
Will the respective clubs miss their p'ship window whilst both players are learning the gameplan?

On face value a good get by the Pies but Jolly is probably the most overrated ruckman in the history of the game.

While he's competent at his job he is no world beater.

He averaged 11.9 possessions and 4.2 marks a game last year, his best ever. Pretty poor for a senior ruckman.

Re: Darren Jolly is a Magpie.

Jeez, we must have been really close to giving up #14 and Thomas as was suggested on here... but nah.

Good effort by the Pies' recruiters, now on to Luke Ball, and maybe even Marcus Drum if you believe the press reports.

Is he related to Jolly? What's the relevance?
I think u need an education on how to use basic stats champ.

For a ruckman others may have chosen to quote something highly controversial such as "hitouts"...maybe even his potential to drift fwd and kick goals.

Guessing u just wanted to make an ass of yaself tho.

One of Jolly's great attributes is also his resilience ...and he wont squibb playing with niggles. He takes the field.

we arent after a ruckman who can get posessions, we're after someone who wont go and hide in the corner with his teddy bear at stoppages

Re: Darren Jolly is a Magpie.

why does mumford now go to sydney...i thought they got seaby to fill the ruck slot?

You are fond of saying that Swans fans wanted some deal like this, but I don't think anyone said this seriously and, if they did, it would be no more ridiculous than Pies fans saying that everyone on their list was untradeable outside of such superstars as Cook and Stanley.

I think most Sydney fans thought 14 + Wellingham or Dawes would have been about right, but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter all that much. It is what it is and the Swans are in a better position IMO after this week than they were before it (assuming Kenndy and Mumford are also on board).

Credit where it's due, you were one of the few Swans fans on this board who was realistic in their expectations. I can imagine to you, that proposed trade would look about as ridiculous as it did to me. You'd be amazed how many said #14 and Nathan J Brown though.

Well yeah, someone made the point on our board that Brown is 3 years or so removed from being a first round pick himself so you would effectively be paying 2 first rounders for Jolly if such a deal had happened, which would have been ridiculous. Pretty sensible way of looking at the situation really.

Geez Daisy cops a bad rap on these boards....one of those players that is easy to bag, but if you had him on your team, I reckon you'd love the guy.
