Hearing whispers around that J. Brown has a groin injury, not sure how serious and whether surgery is required at this stage.
Big news, stay tuned.

Where there is smoke there is fire. If he plays injured he is risking further injury, as well as not being able to perform at his highest.

I say have the surgery if required, or rest until recovered. Too long of a season to risk.

Agreed, Brown never kicked 100 goals in a season. A poor comparison.

brown - triple premiersip player and premier key forward of the comp for best part of 8 years

buddy - one stellar season in 2008 which, like his team, is increasingly starting to look like it was the aberration rather than the reverse

there is no comparison between the 2

I don't disagree that comparing Brown now to Franklin now is a bit rich, but to say that a guy that has kicked not only a 100 goals in a premiership year but 2 other years of 65+ in his first 5 and before he is 24 is an "aberration" is a little bit to harsh.

Interestingly, and numbers lie sometimes, even as badly as Buddy has started, playing against 2 of the better defenses in the league and having to play ruck part time in one, his numbers this year still stand up against Browns at the same age apart from goal kicking accuracy and marks (according to Footywire.com)!

So I guess his season in 2007 (73 goals) and 2009 (67 goals) do not count? The bloke has played five full seasons, three of which have netted 65+ goals. Browny has had ten full seasons (yes, I know many were curtailed by injury) and has managed to eclipse 65+ goals three times. The obvious response is that goals aren't the only measure of a forwards effectiveness and that Browny plays further away from goals as a true CHF which is a fair point.

Regardless, people are blinded by Franklins one outstanding season (113 goals) and are too quick to forget his other returns, notably 2007. While comparing the two at this stage has Brown miles ahead in terms of runs on the board, to dismiss Franklins ability, as a 23 year old KPP, is garbage.

Anyway, I hope Brown pulls up fine, he is in some form. If he doesn't it will be interesting to see how Fev goes.

The highlighted is a massive over exaggeration.
