Brad Hill was a triple premiership player and went for pick 23 and was older, if you think Clark is anything close to that, rocks in head
Given the quality of this years draft its an unknown factor that's why I think pick 27 is about right no point Cats trying to screw down for a couple spots

Yet as a contracted player over 25 he went for pick 10, a future 2nd and Blake Acres.

Whats your point. Or are you still annoyed at your own club? Geelong don’t have to do anything with Clark. As Sam Edmund reported yesterday Clark has asked Geelong for a trade. The cats have set their price which is why Clark hasn’t come out and backed himself into a corner. If the cats get a pick around 20 he’ll be gone if not he’ll be staying at the cats. Pretty simple equation. What bigfooty list managers think is irrelevant. Recruiters are predicting that there will only be approx 55 picks taken this draft so adding a 4th pick that ends up in the 30s does Geelong no good. There would be only 20 players including Recycled players taken outside of our picks so the chances of “missing a player we want” is slim to none.

in reality it will probably be something “equivalent to pick 20” which is all the rage these days.

Clark aint worth anything in the 20s, you can post those thoughts all you

I expect this to be one of the last trades completed.
Freo won’t give up more than 27 and Geelong want a pick in the 20’s.
I don’t see either side blinking.
Personally I think it will be a future 2nd and a third. Maybe a forth back.

What Clark is worth and what Geelong have decided they need before they are willing to trade him arent the same thing.

If Geelong rated him that highly they'd hold him to his contract and play him in position for 20 games next year. Either they don't have faith that he'll deserve a spot next year, or they'd prefer to cut and run

A trade will get done, and i suspect Geelong will be disappointed

Most other clubs I would agree with you, but Geelong have shown with Tim Kelly that they are perfectly happy to hold a player to contract if the terms don't suit them. (Although Bulldogs also did the same with Dunkley last year.) If a trade is done, its because Geelong doesn't actually think Clarke is tghat good. If they keep him, he will play every game.

If a trade is done, its because Clark wants to go to Freo

If Geelong didnt think he was any good, they wouldnt have extended him last season

Tim Kelly wanted to leave, and he wasn't able to when he wanted? I don't really understand why you are so confident of that when it wasn't that long ago that Geelong held a player to their contract.

And I agree, Geelong do want to keep him.

There is a big difference though, in Tim Kelly, who was pivotal to Geelong's flag chances, and the fact there was no-one available that could replace his output, and Clark, who isn't part of the 22 in a flag push.
Yes, there is some correlation, but the other factors, IMO outweigh that small similarity

Because Kelly is the exception, not the rule

More players are traded while contracted then kept to their contracts when requested (in terms of players wanting to leave and the club not wanting to)

Am i missing something here?

Pick 27 seemingly in the 20's.

I think he means geelong wants an earlier pick than 27 (which might end up say 30). Something in the late teens id say is what they will want freo to come up with (whether its directly or via a third club) or they will probably hold him to his contract.

Considering it's been reported and agreed upon by most - neutrals, media commentators and Freo supporters alike - that Freo think Pick 27 is fair...it would appear that Freo themselves think he's worth 'anything in the 20's', and that you're in the minority here - despite how convinced you are of your own opinion.
