publicly wells only said that we think something between 8 and 27 is where it sits.
He has not publicly said 22 is enough. Freo have 19 and 22 now, last time I checked 19 is more in the middle than 27. Wells also maintained that it would be need to be significant given he is wanted and contracted.

Sam Edmund is paraphrasing and being a bit cheeky in suggesting that the cats told freo to get 22 and that would get it done. If that had happened, the deal would be done.

don’t buy into that crap.
the deal will get done.
Yeah exactly.
It's more likely we said get a better pick than 27.
Freo then went and got both 19 and 22. So as it sits we would prefer 19 as that's the better pick and Freo would prefer to offer 22.
Simple as that.
The deal will end up being done.

Freo should withdraw their interest. Clark is a "nice to have" not a "must have".

Picks 6, 8, 19 and 22 is a bloody good draft hand. Take it to the bank Mr Bell.
I think this would be best now.

I actually think Clark is a really good fit at Freo, but you have to be strong enough to let the trade fall through if it's unreasonable.

We want Clark and value him at pick 22. Geelong doesn't necessarily want Clark but do value him higher, and he is contracted.

I have no issues with either side right here and now. Park the conversation until next Wednesday and re-visit as required.

Jordan, if nothing eventuates, or if other opportunities present for picks 19 and 22 this season, rest assured we will work our butts off to hopefully facilitating a trade at the and of next season.

Cheers!

Demons, Port, and Dogs all played young players and maybe if the Cats took some chances with young players they might have done better.

Maybe, if Geelong did some load management and played some young players they may have not run out of stream.

Perhaps you're right with respect to the way Geelong managed their squad and whether their results would have been different, but that is a different issue to this mentality some are floating that a player who couldn't break consistently into the 22 of a side that finished 3rd on the ladder after playing in last year's GF is automatically not rated.

All best 22's are not equal and the fact Geelong have finished top four the last two years unfortunately suggests theirs is better than most and therefore harder to break into. If Clark was at Gold Coast, Adelaide or North he'd probably be a 50 game player already.

It's pretty clearly petty trolling, your name says moderator yeah? Thought you'd be able to see that.
Honestly, apologies, I've been speed reading through here and somehow thought you replied to a post of mine saying "not sure why you bothered"

This idea that Clark is somehow a walk up start to our best 22 is both presumptious and ludicrous. If he ends up in purple, this year or next, he'll need to prove himself beyond question on the track for that to happen. If he's good enough, and earns his spot, he'll play. We're not recruiting in Tim Kelly here.

What, you mean an overrated FIGJAM?
