Traded Jordan Dawson traded to Adelaide for F1 (Melb)

If he leaves, what should Sydney get in return?

  • Two good 1st round picks

  • Top 10 pick and change

  • A 1st & a 2nd

  • Later 1st round pick

  • Two 2nd rounders

  • Early 2nd rounder

  • Other second round pick

  • Less than a 2nd rounder

I guess we will see. I see a pick split in their future.

Use PSD once.....sure use it two years in a row.....

Let me just say we got a trade ban for far far less.

There is no rule or law against using the PSD to attract talent.

We did nothing to deserve the trade ban, but it doesn't mean using the PSD is bad either.

Sydney upset the AFL by getting Franklin when they wanted GWS to get him for the massive marketing it would give them.

Dawson isn't weighing up going to an expansion side, the AFL doesn't care about whether the Crows or Eagles are successful, they only care if Port and Freo are broke.

The AFL will not care. If they didn't care when a first round pick from GWS walked to Adelaide for nothing they won't here.

Good luck at Adelaide Jordan honestly Saturday night and the meek aftermath would have anybody serious about winning a flag with some doubts IMHO

Imagine showing him around Alberton in the lead up to a granny but no…..

Touring facilities really means squat at the moment unless he declares his preferred destination.

Would say the fact he hasn’t already that it’s just as likely he will follow up and see Ports facilities too before making a decision
Hasn't it already been put out there that he is meeting with port in the coming days

Well if you think the 18th (after father sons) best kid in the country gets you more potential to be elite than Dawson then I'm all ears... and very excited by our pick 12/14

No one but Swans supporters really knew who Dawson was until this year. You build your currency on your body of work, not one good year.

Not sure, nothing that I’ve seen but not like I would have any clue either way.

He’ll be a good get for whichever way he goes

He will be a sensational get for either team.

Highly versatile, close to if not the best kick in the league, can find the ball and has good endurance.

Can’t agree with this sweeping notion that Dawson has only had one good year. Was top 10 (top 9 in fact) in Sydney’s B&F in 2019 and 2020 also.

Also can’t agree that the Crows have stitched him up based purely on the fact that he toured their facilities today. He was and still is meeting both clubs. Were we always just going to assume that whoever he meets with first are automatically going to be the preferred club? I don’t think it works like that at all.

Also I haven’t even bothered to check the details, but Rowie has a lifetime average of .000 for having correct intel about anything. Anyone listening to him needs help.

Crows will certainly give up more than pick 23 for Dawson if he does nominate them. Clearly that will be their starting point in negotiations. Clearly they’ll end up throwing in a 2022 2nd rounder and receiving a 2022 4th rounder back or something. It’s obvious. Either that or there’s a separate trade that upgrades Adelaide’s pick 23 to something in the teens, which they then send to Sydney.

Port still in the mix. I’d say we’ll know by Monday.

What? He has been playing good football since 2019, If you pay attention in the league and not just be a one eyed ****wit you can see how well people play.

Playing good football doesn't mean you elite and demand an elite salary and compensation. Hell, Jake Kelly also played some good football.

If feels like crows fans are excited about buying a used car but still kicking tyres phase….

Read the swans board meltdown how sad we are to lose him and then you may realise how key he was in our rise.

What did Sydney offer for Tippett who also only had potential to be an elite player but you pay him an elite player salary.....

Different scenario as he had that loophole in the contract (the whole Tippett scenario was disgusting from all parties).

Doesn't stop Adelaide from only offering pick 23, but doubtful it gets accepted by the Swans.

So, that occurred after we rejected your insulting offer and then his party "force" the trade, show's Tippett character and he got what he deserved.
Wtf does tippett have to do with Dawson?
Fmd, Dawson is comfortably worth a first rounder, you wouldn't find many players in the draft guaranteed to be better than Dawson is and will be

More so what clubs will "offer" for just potentially elite players, we did get overs for Lever but Melbourne signed him up to an elite salary of $800-850K based on potential. I heard many footy expert say Port Power's pick was around the mark which I agree with.

Both have potential to be elite players but one isn't being offer $1M. Agree, around pick 16 will be fair for him.
