Not sure why Crow supporters so worried over this.
You still have 5 days to split pick 4 up. Enjoy the weekend.:)
When we have the PSD as a fall back option, we can be perfectly relaxed that Dawson will make his way to the Crows one way or the other.

Umm durrr it doesn't matter who takes him in the PSD, if he goes there you get NOTHING. This doesn't help you lol
bang on...Sydney supporters here be like...hahaha you didn't get him this year in the PSD - North did. Forgetting they not only lost him for nothing but also the opportunity cost of a 2022 1st round pick..way to make strong stand lol

Do you think the afl is making sydney and adelaide wait for the last day of trade to get it done for the whole drama aspect, like they have already agreed on the trade so they are leaking these fake trade demands/offers?

Nah, I think we're just in the stage where Sydney are just seeing if they can make Adelaide blink, or are softening them up before asking for a swap of 2nds or something to finalise this deal.

No.

Exactly... & the chances the Roos take him against his will with a former Crows administrator as coach would be extremely unlikely.

there would be no other reason they would of done the ccj deal when the whole time they have been saying psd for him.
teams win on and off the field. north just played adelaide to pay up for dawson as both teams are on the same trajectory on rebuilds.
basically psd is over for crows threat now. its pretty much back in sydneys ball park.
crows need to get the deal done or dawson will never go there if he ends up at north for a year.

Those are all nice things but I don’t think he’s as unique as you’re pretending. He’s fundamentally a similar-ish player to Seedsman, but younger.

you’re also underrating Cerra, clubs generally rate his style of inside mid over wingmen. A better comparison is Ed Langdon, who was younger when traded, and on paper had a similar (arguably better) season in 2019 to Jordan this year.
Seedsman doesn't do contested marks. Imagine Seedsman with better disposal efficiency and contested marking but can also play down back. Clubs might rate inside mids higher but Jordan isn't just a winger, he can fill 3 roles and the way he does it is unique.
If you honestly think these 2 players are recognised to be at a similar level, I cannot help you.

Rory Laird has more score involvements, tackles, disposals, and clearances. Good luck getting our 4th rounder for Dawson.

Yeah, you know better than the AA selectors who had both Laird & Seedsman in their squads.

I'm not under-ratibg Dawson, but you are under-rating our players.

I'll take the AA selectors over some nuffie Swans supporter.

Reckon there's a bit of both going on. Crows fans underrating Dawson, Swans fans underrating Crows players. It's what makes the world go round.

Look I rate Dawson as a quality player, but it is a bit rich suggesting on current form he would be the best player at the Crows.

Biases could be involved for selectors, maybe they don't watch Swans players or don't rate them as high as what they deserve? Who knows. Stat's don't lie - they only can be interpreted differently. What makes Bailey Dale worthy of All Australian after 1 good season compared to another "seagull" half back in Jake Lloyd who has been racking up bigger numbers for 5 years and won 2 B&Fs for example?

I wouldn't say he would be outright, but I reckon you could make a fair case he'd go close to your best next year. If he'd stayed, I'd have tipped him to go close to being our best player next season now that he's been moved onto the wing. Toss-up between him, Mills, Parker, and Heeney (if he can stay fit).

That's purely down to the position they play. Laird is not close to being rated the no.1 mid in the comp. Dawson is rated the no.1/2 for whatever position you want to put him in that isn't a midfielder or ruck in the comp basically. No one would trade no.1 rated forward Hawkins or no.1 defender Harris Andrews for Laird for example.

It was a subtle statement on how garbage CD player rating stats are due to comparing different positions (and really, it is apples and oranges), and that comparing someone like Dawson to Laird on impact is just fraught with danger.

Geelong might trade Hawkins for either, but that's purely because Hawkins is old. Andrews isn't getting traded for Laird, or Dawson.

No doubt has the ability to become a best & fairest & AA player.

Laird has already been proven at that level for many years.

So you could still say Dawson off the stats is one of the best (if not the best) wingers or halfbacks in the league. Why is he not able to be considered in the same ball park/calibre a player as Laird just because a top end midfielder does more on the ball naturally?
