You're probably right, but I was under the impression that both Mitchell and Lewis moving was suggested and initiated by the Hawks.

In the sense of "hey you only have a year to go here but if you want to play on then we are happy for you to explore options".

He explored and we got a lowball offer which was declined. And fair enough too. 1 year contract so he could always go there for 2 years after that and we get FA compo.

Why are so many grappling to understand this?

The argument that is being used for JOM applies to Jordan equally here.

JOM injured for 2 years but hawks selling the farm to get him. Logic, 'well yes he is injured but the size of the contract you are offering him suggests you rate him'.

Same thing for the Dees. You can't offer him a dream 3 year deal for big bucks and expect to get it done for a 4th rounder even though he is 28/9. I think 2nd rounder plus player will be the final trade.

2nd rounder plus a player would be very bad for us and we wouldn't be able to get Hibberd. Unless the player is Dawes, then I would do it.
If we get any value for Dawes it'd be hilarious

Its funny how the media say that Lewis is worth a third/forth round pick but Deledio from Richmond is worth Caddy (first/second rounder). Both roughly same age, whilst they play different position, one is a VC and has leadership qualities in a premiership side whilst the other has persistent calf injuries and barely top 3 in Richmond's B&F...*Lewis finished 2nd in his our B&F

Can't understand the logic at all, considering both allegedly want out of their respective clubs.

Im sure many do but they are having fun trying to create drama. Apparently we fell over a cliff.

From 1st to 5 while rebuilding. I guess that is a cliff, but only compared to Sydney's rebuild cliff...

Missing out on a Prelim by a stray kick after the siren sure is one sheer cliff drop.

I think you are being a Hawthorn fan there but I'd love (as a Geelong fan) Caddy to be worth a first rounder.

Where does the media say he is "Worth" Caddy.
Only read Richmond have interest in Caddy.

Whatever you know what I mean, everyone in the media is saying Caddy for Deledio is fair, yet when it comes to Lewis, everyone is saying his worth a 3rd or even a 4th..

I haven't read anything that says the media view Caddy for Deledio as fair. They report Richmonds alleged view it is fair, but not their own. Correct me if i'm wrong here.

Lewis is a genuine gun, you'd be stupid not to enquire if he was on the market.

That is absolutely ridiculous.. Lewis is worth a top 20 pick and everyone knows it..

28/9?
He's 31 in April what world are you living in?

If you take Hawthorn's logic, BnF finishes mean SFA for trade value.

Ahhh anyone that criticises the Hawks simply doesn't understand sport.. apart from having the best team of all time, yes they are, they are teaching the rest of the Como what it takes to be successful and that is being ruthless. Fair play.

Why because I have a say in it? What we as fans say on an anonymous footy forum has no bearing on anything I assume you realise this?

I can tell you as a fact the Lewis to Melbourne is a goer and at the moment they are thrashing out a deal, the Dees have offered a lucrative 3 year deal while the Hawks only offered 1, it's a no brainer for Jordan.

I guess we will all have to wait and see what the deal looks like but the Hawks may want to put it to bed pretty quickly because they have more irons in the fire, apart from the JOM deal.

What's the ball park figure here?

Your Narrative is so far from the truth that it hurts.:D

Think it'll be a second for Hibberd & a third for Lewis early in the week.

We won't be letting him go for a 3rd rounder, when we can hold onto him for another year & get a 2nd round compo pick for him next year.

The want for Hawthorn to fall off a cliff is delicious. Perhaps we should play the game and get sentimental and let the lads play on until they are 37.
