Has just had the one footy pre-season, having focussed mostly on cricket until the past year, so I drag out the dreaded 'plenty of upside' cliche.

Another one who’s been on a tortuous route to AFL footy. Hine just loves them.

He's simply got a thickset build and if he covers the ground as well as they say he must be a very good power athlete.

Fair to say he's the polar opposite of Tyler Brown who when arriving at the club looked like he'd come straight off the set of POW movie.

I want him standing up against Murphy to know his real height.
Having being renowned for having a good basketball starting 5, we are now building a decent cricket 11

Nathan Murphy
Josh Carmichael
Jeremy Howe (well he is Wade’s cousin)
Steele Sidebottom (brother played county cricket)
Pendles (has a lot of time to play the ball apparently)
De Goey (goof night watchman)
Ginnavan (good at ducking under the short ball)
Charlie Dean (played a few seasons at St Kilda in premier cricket)
Finlay Macrae (wicket keeper for Xavier first eleven in APS cricket under Darren Berry coaching)

Lyon is originally from NSW and went to SA to work on ground staff and play grade cricket

I like to claim him as a Canberran as he moved down the road from Young (the cherry capital of the nation) as a teen and represented the ACT before he moved to Adelaide. It's a massive stretch but you have to claim whatever you can!

Just a recent switch from cricket to football with a strong - though as yet immature - body and a booming kick and people are whingeing??

Josh is exactly what the mid season draft is all about, young players from non mainstream paths working their way into the system.

Those whingers should STFU.
To be fair 95% of pie fans were very happy with the selection

Despite his elite performance on looks he really does look straight out of a country footy side - the professional environment may really elevate him over the next year or so
This is probably what Hine was eluding to about exposure to elite system. Interesting listening to both Hine and McRae that they consider him a big-bodied inside mid. If he develops under our systems and coaches he could be anything. McRae recently spoke about JDG only contecting centre bounces and then drifting forward and NOT playing as a bona fide midfielder. This kid, when developed well, has the potential to be what JDG could give us but allows JDG to spend more time forward and only swapping out in the centre as required for rotations.
Listening to a few interviews, and piecing together the intended game plan and strategies, I'm low-key excited for the potential this might offer us. Nice selection CFC!

Going off on a bit of a tangent there bro, no one is unhappy with the selection, are you sure it's real
