I get that, but look players always want to play. Yeah he may not know the game plan but the game will help him learn
True, but sometimes you don't get what you want when you enter the system. Just gotta have some patience. A week wont hurt, plus he'll get lots of training in.

It won’t hurt him at all, I just would have thrown him in at the deep end. Ultimately think his talent will be more beneficial than carrying a VFL listed player who knows the system

Possibly, but they know best. He'll be deep into so much education and information in the first few days anyway.

Game plans aren’t that hard to learn.
Fly said that there are some players that have been here for 6 months struggling with the game plan, so they can't expect someone here for a week to learn it.

Clearly, I'm no expert, but I would have thought that for a young lad coming into the club mid-season would need to go through some inductions and assessments before he even thought about playing senior footy. The medicos and health & conditioning staff would want to get some baseline data from him and discuss any possible deficiencies and/or issues. It's not like he has come through the system and spent a pre-season with the squad so he will need to time to develop his place in the team and to earn his place. This may take a week or two but I'd be surprised seeing him with a senior gig within the first month. Again, I'm no expert so I may be wrong, but I suspect there is much to achieve before simply running out in the seniors.

Don't talk logic. We want hype:cool:

What like the medical examination he did pre draft?

I'm surprised he's not playing. They regularly drop top up players into the vfl, assumedly without much prep

It is pretty basic, built off territory and pressure. If you had 6 months of sitting in team meetings learning it there is zero excuses not to know it
There's knowing it on paper. There's consistently following it on the field whilst thinking. Then there's doing it without thinking. There's a few steps. But when Mcrae is talking about players not knowing the game plan, it's probably as simple as some are still getting sucked into the contest sometimes when they should be holding their spacing.

^ there’s also the physical requirements to execute it. Many of these new draftees won’t have the tank to do it at game speed for four quarters.

Look I get that part of it, but players will always get lost. That’s why you need strong leadership especially from the guys down back.
