Even if there are murmurs, that twitter account has zero credibility. Obviously Essendon would be silly not to monitor what is going on.
Not saying it would be Dunkley, but after the last few weeks luring a good player to Essendon would be a perfect way to sell 'hope' to the supporter base for next year.
Hurley in the coaches box next to Brad Scott, plus a high profile recruit. Try to get that feel-good factor going again.

Bruhn is overrated in that trade IMO

I think we're heading towards a fair deal for Dunkley

We don't know what the bulldogs first demand was. Probably 2 first rounders and McCluggage.

Despite what your coach says clearly your club doesn't mind leaking info to the media

I wouldn't bet on that just quietly, esp now the Lions have (foolishly) traded pick 15.

We are nowhere close to a deal.

15 and a future first, less than the Taranto trade. Your team decided that we’d only get 15 if we sent you the equivalent in draft points, then spite traded it when told to **** off. Brisbane could have had Dunkley in their jumper by now, for a relative bargain, and be working on building up their points stock for Ashcroft.

If we had a drink every time reasoning for it not being a good precedent was given, we’d all be stone cold sober.

“But you see, this mid-20s competitive ball-winning mid with elite stats who’s out of contract is totally different to that mid-20s competitive ball-winning mid with elite stats who’s out of contract, he’s worth half the price at best”

They didn't trade it out of spite, they traded it to get enough points for the number 1 kid in the country. List managers aren't as childish as you're making them out to be. Same goes for the Dogs, they're not going to risk losing Dunkley for nothing when they can receive a future first and an early second.

Maybe they need to recognise that they can’t afford both the best kid in the country and someone else’s B&F.

“We’ll just blatantly underpay and expect the Dogs to swallow it” is not what I’d call an ultimately successful list management strategy.
" We'll just let our current bnf winner and gun on-baller walk for nothing out of spite rather than taking a first and early second rounder" sounds like an even worse list management strategy.

I'm not saying its a good deal for the Dogs, they're losing the best asset in this trade which is unfortunate for them but the time to get fair value isn't now, that ship has sailed.

“We’ll let our current B&F winner walk to a competitive team for a bag of chips and a spit in the face, where he’ll actively make that team more likely to defeat us in finals for no reasonable return” wouldn’t be an ideal strategy either. If he goes to North he’s at least not strengthening a direct flag competitor.
