30 and 39 is worth just about the same as 15 in draft points, which is what's important to Brisbane this year. Offering 15 and a future first for 30 and 39 is essentially valuing Dunkley as a late first rounder. If you think he's your next big thing, pay accordingly and don't insult him.

By this logic we offer our future first, 34 and 35 and there's your 2 first rounders

Or does this only work 1 way?

Picks 30 & 39 are both going to be used by us to complete other deals. We need those picks, they aren’t just sitting around doing nothing.

Pick 30 goes to Freo for Lobb.

Pick 39 goes with Hunter, as part of that deal. Details will come out Wednesday or Thursday, waiting on Freo to get Jackson. Only then will we know what other picks are involved in that deal.

"Brisbane don't want to pay more than a future first for Dunkley"

look I know I'm a nuff but thaat's objectively insulting

Great click bait, the Dunkley Deadlock. Has got things moving around here at least!

Dogs want two first rounders, Brisbane only want to pay a Future First. Geez I wonder what the middle ground is going to be ….

you forgot the future 3rd

Lolll...says the poster who just cracked it over an impartial observation from someone who doesn't agree with their club's position.

Little piece of advice bud - if you need to resort to calling someone a sook over what is basically just an observational, analytical comment - then maybe you're the one who's projecting.

But keep calling me names because you can't take critical commentary, I'm sure that won't get you a thread ban at all :)
I live in a reality that a clubs trade position in the middle of the trade period is the business of said club’s recruitment staff. The actions of the staff and the staff of another club does not reflect on me personally. That’s how adults should think. Take that advice

Clubs clearly don’t have that long a memory, given we traded Schache (pick 2) to the dogs for literally peanuts.

Worked out for us in the end lol but at the time it was one of the most one sided trades ever.
Funny you should say that, because the Dogs gave up 25+40 for Schache (equivalent to pick 14 in points). The reported trade Brisbane offered for Dunkley that the Dogs rejected was worth (assuming equivalent finishing positions next year) pick 23 in draft points. Wonder why it was rejected?

Do you expect the Bulldogs to have made a reasonable first offer?

Probably Rayner and Andrews

Haha Jesus Christ. That is sickening. Thread should pause after this post for a couple days.

Brisbane has been pretty good at picking the eyes out of other clubs recently without having to pay up.

McCarthy
Cockatoo
Daniher

Getting Daniher then smoothing the contract out after the fact without the AFL coming down on them like a ton of bricks still had everyone wondering wtf happened.

They've just trodden a little too far past the line with this one.

Expecting a best and fairest winning premiership player to come at a discount with a competent list manager pulling the strings on the other side might just see them with egg on their face.

Don't disagree with you on Dunkley, but picking up 3 guys riddled with injuries is hardly picking the eyes out of clubs. Two have come good. I rate McCarthy. Daniher is often a ghost when it matters. Not sure Cockatoo will work out.

But it's not pick 23 is it? It's two first rounders. Your first round selections don't depreciate because you lose second round picks. They are still early picks.

Love how us taking a punt on injury prone players is seen as picking the eyes out of clubs. Yet clubs were happy to try feed off our carcass and shaft us with the go home 5. Very short memories.

If you can look at a mega-trade and identify an obvious loser, then it's a straight up no. And that obvious loser is Gold Coast.

It points terms, this gives them an upgrade from 1,634 to 3,657 for an extra 2,023, which is the equivalent of pick 4.
