We're not dropping him

Remember when we jumped early because Curtin trained with the Bs for match sim? Similar here I reckon.

I'm sure he's playing but we maybe clipped his wings a bit by having him put on the B strip for one session. The tweet guy jumping to conclusions.

Yes, club not happy with him (because they are clueless) but not dumb enough to drop him entirely.

We know Laird and Nicks are joined at the hip.
This just reinforces the class gap still at the club between senior and younger players.

Nicks has just killed our 2025 season before it has even started
This fracture wont heal

Why do we always make it so hard for our young players to feel a valued part of the club
Used to be that if a player performed poorly, they'd be dropped for a couple of weeks to the reserves .....with the Gen Z's, they sulk at any adversity, and immediately threaten asking for a trade

Yes, the coaching style has changed to suit these fragile personalities ....can't yell at them ect

But it's also not all about them ....the team is the bigger picture ...if that hurts ego's, so be it

We're seeing a similar situation with Petracca currently ....first bump in the road, and he wants out (apparently)

I'm not fussed either way on action taken on Rachele .....but I do back in the views of the leadership group, who have some real experience and wise heads .....or do we dismiss the views of Dawson, Hinge, Keys, and ROB (the scholar)

Cal Twomey doesn't usually run stories like this based on a player training in the Bs for match sim

He's gotten the information from somewhere

With that said I wouldn't be surprised if the club has gotten terrified of the feedback and reverses the decision

Hunch? Or you’ve got good mail on this? How did Cal Twomey get is wrong then. He’s usually on the money. Isn’t the type to go with something unless he’s pretty sure about it.

Twomey isn't known for these types of tweets, I'd be shocked if he was wrong.

Talking of players sulking, have you seen Rory Laird's attitude this year
Have you seen Murphy's, ROB's or Smith's performances this year ?
For a club that hasn't had any success for 5 years, I wouldn't back their judgement at all

Different rules for different players is a cancer through the club

No mail
Gut feel only

Plus our PR awareness will kick in before any major criticism-drawing decision gets made

Where the **** is this Rachele dropped talk coming from.

Surely it’s bullshit!

If they drop Rash then I wouldn’t blame him for requesting a trade to a real club.
I'll burn the ****ing club down if Josh is dropped because of anything but legitimate injury.

Murphy has never been in danger of being dropped ....so you can put that one to bed

ROB suffers from a lack of an alternative ....he's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get from him .....and in a Final that's BAD

Laird has been dreadful I agree ....some of his efforts so poor ...some of it is with his physical decline, having lost that 2mtr speed, that anabled him to get to the fall of the ball as a mid ....and breakaway from opponents

That pace has gone, hence his move out of the midfield, but now he's getting caught with the ball too often .....he has an uncertain future

You’ve provided no basis for your repeated assertion this decision was made by the leadership group.

It’s 2024, not 1994. Our coaches (like any organisation) need to deal with the world as it is, not as they’d prefer it to be. That goes for the way people are managed too, which has come a long way for a variety of reasons.

You can’t just batter someone’s confidence repeatedly and publicly and then wonder why that doesn’t improve their performance.

In 1994 it would have been purely the Coaches call ....he reigned supreme

In 2024 it's the Leadership Group's call .....he'll the players even choose the Capt and VC now ......not the Coach

No Coach is going to make the Rachele call, without the backing of the leadership group ....not in todays AFL environment ....to do otherwise is how a Coach would lose the players
