Josh Rachele - "The Victorian"

Alex Neal-Bullen wants to go back to SA, so a straight swap for Rackele makes a lot of sense for both teams.

ANB would be a great addition to the Crows, hard worker, tough, one of the best endurance runners and tacklers in the league, leads by example, 27 years old, and should have 4-5 good years left.

The biggest issue would be Melbourne's culture - If Rachele has already got a bit of a discipline problem, imagine what he would be like spending after spending his preseason on a bender with Simon Goodwin!

Massive LOL to any Melbournites suggesting this laughable proposal.

Rachelle is 21 years old. He has kicked the equal most goals of any player 22 and under in 2024.

He is young and has a bit to learn about discipline.

Neal-Bullen is 28 and will be 29 next year. Right.

Rachelle is contracted for 5 more years and has said openly this week how much he loves Adelaide and the Adelaide Football Club.

So…… enough. It’s NOT. GOING. TO. HAPPEN. 👍🏼😂

LOL. The most prolific goal kicker in the AFL 22 years old and under in 2024 (30 goals this year) is a straight swap for a role playing 29 year old (in 2025). Fair swap?! 😂 OK then. Thanks for the laughs!
A very good role player who will help drive standards at your club, which has been absolutely pathetic in that regard.

Check your goal kicker stats all the boys picked in the FF line all have kicked more goals.

No doubt & hopefully ANB is at the Crows next season, but won't be for Rachele in a straight swap lol.

Alright fine, you can have premiership champion Harrison Petty as well.

Is this the same Rachele that Adelaide dropped on the weekend? The one the entire club hung out to dry and made look like an undisciplined fool?
That one??

Yeah, sure looks like the club loves him, and I'm sure he is stoked to be there.

Throw in a draft pick as well when he walks and Adelaide comes begging for ANB.

I wouldn't want ANB if he was free.

Outing yourself as a casual fan who doesn't watch much or understand football isn't the response I expected.

You won’t get any arguments from me about how poor the treatment of Rach was this week.

However equating this to mean well let go a player contracted for five years and not extract maximum value is just incorrect.

The same way you guys won’t let Petracca go unless for a kings ransom.

Btw, you laugh reacted my post which was entirely factual, care to share a reason why?

Almost like piling on Rach is the flavour of the month but isn’t actually justified because he’s performing very well for a third year player in a shit team.

Growing up in the 80s it was sport to rile up the opposition fan base.

Yobbo culture murdered off on purpose by those in power and replaced with this shit.

Dawson should have Racheles back yet he's towing the line.

People forget what the old Suburban grounds were like. That was a real home ground advantage. If you played too good as a vistor team, you would be lucky to get out of the carpark alive.

Melbourne didn't drop Petracca, the club is 100% committed to him. Using him as an example is either lazy or clapsing at straws.

Rachele is on the outer right now in Adelaide, they are likely shopping him, and begging teams to take on a player who they think has poor character.

Rachele and a 2nd rounder for ANB.

Lol. I would be more worried about what players you will have left than thinking about the Crows list.
I was responding to a Saints supporter, but since you ask, the Crows list is trash as well.

Rach is not on the outer. He played every game this year up until the last and had a good year statistically.

Nicks decided that he wanted to make a “statement”. It was a poor decision that proved nothing but that’s all it was. I guarantee you that if he’s not injured or specifically asks for a trade himself he will be in our round 1 team in 2025.

We signed him up until 2029 last year, and this year he’s been one of if not the premier young small forwards in the game. Not sure why you think that means we’re shopping him around.

Also, you still haven’t addressed the post you laugh reacted without explaining why?

ANB is a good player, who I hope we get. But he’s a role player and 28. He simply is not worth anywhere near as much in a trade as a 21 year old who is one of the best young players in his position.

Rachele's fine. My only problem with him is his weak attack on the contest at times, he needs to become mentally tougher and more determined. Skills are there and well worth persevering with.

He absolutely leaves a lot to be desired in terms of his attack on the ball at times. However, good to see that you can acknowledge he’s still a good player who just needs to work on those weaknesses.

I’m not sure about being mentally weak though. This year he has kicked 17 goals in the 9 games decided by 2 goals or less. In the other 13 he’s kicked 13. At the moment he’s a guy who lifts in close games which isn’t a sign of mental weakness if you ask me.

"Not on the outer" - he just got dropped for disciplinary reasons, that's on the outer.

Log off champ, you're cooked.

Okay, so every time a club drops/suspends a player that automatically means they’re gone?

I’ll say again, I wouldn’t rule out Josh asking to be traded, but we aren’t pushing him out. As long as Josh wants to stay and isn’t injured I guarantee you he plays in round one.

Revisit this in March next year and we’ll see who was right.

And again, still haven’t addressed why you disagreed with my post about Rach’s quality that was simply stats.

The thing that impressed me the most in those stats is that Croc, Ginni and the Wiz play together ……. for the next decade 👍
