Re: What did Judd do?

HAHAHA as if Judd will get suspended.

He could kill a man on the field and would play the next week.
-------------------------------------

Yes because the man should not have been near Judd let alone on the field .:p

I believe Walls and Lane didnt mention what Robinson did to Jones in the first qrt or mention what Judd did while they were commentating on TV last night .

But they mentioned any incident that could possibly if the MRP tried really hard result in suspension for St Kilda, nice unbiased coverage there Channel Carlton, glad they've lost the rights.

Re: What did Judd do?

Wishful thinking you tool. There was no sling tackle. It was just a good hard tackle. You girls down at Essendon would love it if he didn't play next week.

I don't want Judd to miss. Im asking because him winning the brownlow is in a year long multi I have. So stop being a tossed when all I asked was what happened cause I was out and didnt see it.

Re: What did Judd do?

<------------------Essendon supporter, not Carlton

Saw the tackle. Cannot remember who it was on, but it wasnt a sling. Similar motion but it was all one action and not two separate.

Will be alright.
Doesn't mean a thing if it was a single motion. Kings tackle on Otten last week was described as a single motion tackle, but because Otten ended the game with concussion, despite playing another quarter after the incident, King was still found guilty and suspended. If the Saints player was to end up as having concussion then Judd would have something to answer. No doubt though that it will be looked at and given the all clear.

Pretty sure Armitage went for one last week as well.

Re: What did Judd do?

if it's touch and go they won't have the courage to suspend him ... remember that they even did some creative maths to let barry hall play in the 2005 gf. regardless of consistency and merit that's just the way they operate

Re: What did Judd do?

Should be fine... but it could be argued thats two motions which immediately makes it a sling tackle.

Grabs the saints player, pauses for 1/2 a second then sidesteps round his back turning it into a sling 'style' tackle.

Evidence for the prosecution would be that he stops, turns his body, extends his leg for momentum THEN drives the player down.

Defense, noone was hurt and its Juddy

Re: What did Judd do?

He certainly won't go for that, and I want him to play Essendon next week. I have chills in anticipation for next Sunday already.

I just saw his sling tackle on AFL gameday, if he doesnt get at least a week for it based on all the other decisions, the AFL's MRP will lose the rest of what very little credibility it has left.

I wonder if the Saints will produce a damning medical certificate that is all the rage.

Re: What did Judd do?

commentators last night were trying to sell the 1-2 weeks suspension for pretty lame incidents. no player should miss any weeks.

commentators should be at centerlink next year when the footy goes to 7/foxtel.

EDIT: just saw the tackle. fair dinkum, why do we have a thread on this. gilbert got straight back up and had a hand free.

No-one from last nights game should go, the Judd tackle was fine, no one was injured, Gilbert had the footy, shouldn't even be looked at.

Polo and Milne's "punches" were way way too soft too be counted, buuuuuut, Baker did go for slapping Stevie J's hand, so who knows.

The MRP has never and will never make any sense whatsoever, they will all get 12 weeks but 6 will be suspended pending the first player to find the mythical velvet sledgehammer and return it to the all powerful Vlad the Impaler.

Can we keep this on topic??

If you cant comment on the tackle in question do not comment at all and refrain from throwing in the little jibes to work others up. This board has the same set of rules as the Main Board and if you keep constantly breaching them with rubbish Infractions will follow.

No more warnings will be given.

Saints have lost a few players through the sling tackle this year.

Sadly a few years ago, a good sling tackle was commendable, in fact Lenny hayes was applauded on this forum for his brutal but fair tackling.

Luke ball used to be another one capable of bringing down players far bigger than him by using the players momentum against them.

Kirk and rattan were exponents of this as well, as was nathan burke.

I don't see the sling tackle as that bad. However if the rules are to be maintained then Judd needs to be cited on this.

Personally I think a good sling tackle is applaudable if opponent has the footy. A free kick against the tackler if the ball has been disposed off legally.

Judd should get 1 week as with armitage and kosi.

Judd and Chapman should both be suspended.

Not because there was anything wrong with what they did, but because Hocking, Armitage and King have been suspended for the same thing.

Yes, the rule sucks and yes the AFL have destroyed the tackle. But it's not fair to suspend low profile players and clear Judd and Chapman for doing the same thing. The fact that the players were not injured have been irrelevant in other incidents, so should be irrelevant here.

1-2 weeks each. Won't happen, of course but that just goes to the joke that is the MRP.

6 weeks IMO, however with that type of barbaric behaviour police involvement may be necessary

Didn't look like his head hit the ground. Would need to see a slow-mo up close, but prima facie he should be fine.

If we have any consistency he will be suspended, not that I think players should even be looked at for tackles like that. But if they want any credibility they need to show consistency.
