Thats exactly why i turned off him. He doesn’t have the required edge.I liked him in the latest podcast. He's a vibe man and the players love him.

I disagree. He's too risk averse, but I think he'll be the guy that takes us to a flag.
Regardless of your take on JL, what's the "narrative" sought to be removed? Like maybe this will change as we roll into next year, but currently there isn't the same narrative about JL's job that there was last year and especially leading into pre-season this year.
We aren't missing the top 8 with our list people. The issue is determining if our 'success' was because of the list or coaching. I guess that will depend on how deep we go into finals.Ya McManus is having laugh there surely with that argument.
Imagine we extend him and finish 10th again next year? Unthinkable.
Nothing less than a top 4 finish and winning 1 final. We aren't missing the top 8 with our list people. The issue is determining if our 'success' was because of the list or coaching. I guess that will depend on how deep we go into finals.
I really do hope I’m wrong.I disagree. He's too risk averse, but I think he'll be the guy that takes us to a flag.
I think McManus’s argument reads more like why he shouldn’t be extended yet.
I think an extension shouldn’t be looked at until the bye next season, at least.
"Excuses" aren't a thing. Something either impacts performance or it doesn't. And that's down to evidence.I don't agree with McManus; the narrative SHOULD be there. Because the pressure SHOULD be there. This club has failed to succeed for numerous years; it entered a list rebuild at the end of 2016 suddenly and went into semi-freefall under Lyon until they jettisoned him in 2019.
But the past is the past. Exactly that. Justin is under pressure to get this club into finals and challenging with what looks like a capable and talented list, and that narrative should be finals or bust. He's had 5 previous season at the helm, he needs to show he can handle it and he can bottle it, and use it to energise himself; his fellow coaches, the players, and lastly, the fans....
No more excuses. It's now (2025), or it's goodbye...
I thought our list was finals worthy this year and we still didn't make it...We aren't missing the top 8 with our list people. The issue is determining if our 'success' was because of the list or coaching. I guess that will depend on how deep we go into finals.
I didn't, KPFs were too young and no small forwards. Lots of positives though with the emergence of Young and Draper. Just need Amiss, Jackson and Johnson are the key players that need to improve next year.I thought our list was finals worthy this year and we still didn't make it...

I suspect that the Club will once again extend a further year to JL on the eve of the 2025 H & A season. This will be primarily to call off the media dogs who would otherwise cause as much distraction as possible to our season with their speculation.
I think the fact that they will be getting so many Docker supporters renewing their membership early in addition to the new members coming on board will contribute to the extra year extension.
Giving him another 1-year extension would cause more media scrutiny, not less. He’s done nothing to earn two extensions, two years in a row off the back of two disappointing seasons. How many free swings are we gonna give JL before we grow a backbone and become a more ruthless club?
The coach shouldn’t even be paying attention to what the media is saying about him, and those criticisms don’t suddenly go away regardless of his contract status.
Well it got the bloodhounds off us this year.
What PP is saying is we don’t need such diversions.
I don’t agree with your two disappointing seasons at all. This past season was very good and only derailed by key injuries ; otherwise we were legitimately looking at a home qualifying final.
Already we are getting too much positive press merely off a super acquisition. The media will insist on getting back to “business as usual” Freo bashing and what better subject matter than to get into Justin Longmuir again.
A new one year contract did the trick earlier this year and I’m all for it again.
