Pretty good troll by Kornes.

He has taken the the formula KG taught Graham Cornes of building an audience through professional trolling and improved on it to the point he is now a pretty big name in the national AFL media landscape.

Fair play to him.
fair play to kane for having two really annoying role models and entrenching himself as the most annoying guy in football for the next 30 years

I just groan when an article - about whatever - starts with "Port Adelaide legend Kane Cornes says..." He's nothing but a sh1t stirrer.

If you have been triggered by Kane Cornes, you are the reason he has a job
I've a mate who can't resist commenting on almost every Cornes post, calling him a flog, shock jock, gutter journalist etc. I tell him every time he does that, Cornes gets a $500 click bait commission on top of his next year's salary. The response "yeah but he needs to be called out as a flog"...and the cycle continues.

It'd be sad if his house ever caught fire and the fireys turned up, stayed for 5 minutes, then went '* it, this isn't as cool as I thought it would be', and just left and did something else.
If you got for a regular job after earning big money as a sports person, the polish would fade pretty quickly, especially if after 5 minutes you were offered a lucrative media gig.
I don't understand the hate Kane gets for his fire-fighter excursion

I would be 100% supportive of him with it regardless of how long he stayed there if either:
1. He had accepted at the end of 2014 that it was what he wanted to do and so retired from football and let Port fill his spot on the list and plan for the 2015 season, or:
2. He had played out the 2015 season and then gone for the next firefighter intake after that.

He played those games in 2015 for only one reason which was he wanted to hit his personal 300 milestone and saw that as more important than the success of the club and his teammates. The fact that after doing that he still left the fireys in short order just adds insult to injury.

Will forever be a Port legend for 2004 but has the most tainted legacy of anybody in that side.

Because of who he is, where he lives and what his last name is.

To think that the media wasn't always his natural path after football is laughable.

The problem is he left the field in good faith to pursue something that wasn't that natural, only to bail out shortly after and do the thing he could have stepped into extremely easily without burning the football club.

Does anyone really believe that the media gig just popped up for him by chance, out of the blue, once in a lifetime opportunity? Carn. It was almost his birthright.

He was doing guest media bits in his final playing years, but to suggest he would have bothered completing the fireman's trials knowing that he had a lucrative media job already lined up its just silly.
The Cornes name hasn't helped his brother score a media position post football.

Because his brother didn't pursue it, Kane did. It doesn't mean the position wasn't there for the taking or that he didn't have a significant advantage.

That just had to be played at AO. None of this crossing The Nullarbor the previous week coz of hamstring awareness.

The Cornes dynasty is built on narcissism. Having said all that while he keeps picking at Crows' scabs and riling up the neighbours i'll give him a pass.

Close checking on FC isn't bad and he does do his homework. Plenty worse in the industry.

It doesn't change the fact that he wouldn't have bothered spending 5 minutes with the fireies if he already had the media job lined up. When he signed up, that's what he thought his career would be.

It's like criticising someone for quitting their new job if they win x-lotto.
