He has. From memory it’s was McCentee, F Evans, Narkle, ….cant remember the other two, it was on Sportsday with him and Healy.
Narkle is fine as a depth player, while we were getting thumped by Centrals, he pretty much put the team on his back.

Predictably and appropriately Kornes went hard at the Hawthorn over-reaction against his man, Ken, in his TRSF video on the AFL website. I think he nailed his comments this time and called it for the hypocrisy and sour grapes it is. Noted that many coaches have done it through recent history starting with Clarkson (which he should have elaborated on), the Scotts, Malthouse and Sheedy. Was at pains to defend Ken and highlight the pressure he’s been under and the fact he was no more than cheeky and not aggressive, let alone “very aggressive”. Aimed at former Hawks players, Mitchell, Sicily and the clown that is Ginnivan. And predictably reminded us that Hinkley got booed by Port supporters 10 weeks ago.

At least he used his stage for some good this time, even if it is to defend the guy we are all sick of.

Korn going into bat for stinkers probably helps the sack hinkley cause more than anything

I know it’s hyperbole and this worm is best ignored, but where does this campaigner get the nerve to say that five players who turned out for Port last night shouldn’t be on an AFL list?

I’ll give him (maybe) Frank and Narkle, but even they’ve had their good moments.

That was a heroic effort from all 23 last night and for Kane to degrade the players by saying five don’t belong in the AFL system is low even for this mouth breather.

If there was an accredited media figure in SA with any pills, they’d ask Ken what he thought about those comments next week.

Although surely the Kane - Ken relationship is under strain already, given he basically called Zak soft during the week.

Didn’t this guy say that the theme for the players going into finals should be “us against them”, with ‘them’ being the critical fans?

Now he’s just casually writing off nearly a quarter of the current first team as not league-standard.

Lol.

He was very controlled and on point on the Sunday Footy Show. Yes, backed Hinkley but pointed out the hypocrisy of the Hawthorn media mafia who never criticise Alastair Clarkson but all piled on Hinkley. No Victorian commentator would do that. They went through the roll of coaches who have had verbal interactions with players, The Scott brothers (of course), Sheedy, Malthouse, Clarkson (of course). Fair play.

Also made the point Port had no right to win that game, Farrell and Houston out, Burton out, Dixon out just before the game, Lorenz in for his second game (quarter), Marshall playing his first game in 6 weeks and then subbed out half way though after head knocks, a string of dodgy free kicks for goals to Hawthorn. Again, fair play.

Clarifys what he said about Butters and what he wanted him to do this week.

Chompers really struggling with comprehension there.

Thought Kane explained his position pretty well on both points (Hinkleygate and NoRightToWin)

Lloyd as usual put his case forward pretty well too.

Expat tried, got to Narkle, Evans, and Jed (I didn't think he played but its hard to tell).

Logan Evans - couldn't even get picked in main draft= spud
Jordon sweet - couldn't get a game for Bulldogs, absolute potato
Zerk thatcher - reverse Coleman last year, delist

We made it “historical” because of how shit we were the prior week.
This is the Ken MO. Drastically lower expectations, slightly exceed those expectations, be praised by all and sundry for exceeding expectations as they forget that you were the reason they were low in the first place.

The last week was unbearable with hawk mania gripping Victoria. It wasn’t just Ginny that was thinking “see you in 14 days” but the whole of Victoria. They thought the win against Port was a formality and also to ‘avenge’ the loss earlier in the year in the H&A. So for us to win, it was a massive stfu to the whole state. And for Kane to mention the questionable umpiring was also great.

Whateley also referred to the umpiring on Crunch Time yesterday. Brereton had suggested that both the Burgoyne and Jones tackles in the second quarter ticked boxes that should lead to MRO scrutiny and more than just wave-off warnings. Edmund pushed back a little. Whateley then started to mention the umpiring. Before he could say much, Brereton then stated that at least it didn’t influence the game too much. Whateley then shut him down immediately - pretty sure he was aware of the extreme Hawks bias that had come through after Brereton's anti-Hinkley tirade. Whateley said it was a terrible standard of umpiring, changed all momentum in the game and to clarify further, said that if we had lost it, there would have rightfully been protests in the streets from Port fans. Was so good to hear.
