De list and give his spot to josh thomas
Seriously pablo, some of the stuff you come up with!! This lad kicked (a total of) 9 goals in his first two VFL games. He's still only 18 and he obviously has some real talent. Have a look at his highlights reel for goodness sake! How about we persevere with him and hope he goes on to fulfil his potential. Drop him off the list and he's gone for good, there's time enough for Thomas to get another crack at it if he's good enough.

You know what - everyone has different values, goals and wishes in life.
I think Kayle has this opportunity he needs to decide what he values in life and what decisions he's gonna make to get there.

If he truly wants to do this, and is unable to achieve his goals, (if getting the right encouragement and support) - then that is tough.

But if he ultimately decides that this isn't the life that he wants - then you can't really begrudge him that: fame and money do not bring happiness or fulfilment.

I don't care how fat he gets as long as be can run a game out, I think he's just one of those guys who gains weight easily, most guys like that can lose weight quickly as well, give the kid some time.

Contradiction right there.

Not really a contradiction.
Guys with those kinds of bodies also tend to have bad habits (both diet and exercise), and once a habit is formed it is hard to get over. But put them in the right environments, with the right motivation, and tight structures/limits, and you can counteract those habits and they can lose weight very easily.
(And in the reverse - put them in the opposite environment and they balloon very quickly: just look at what happens to sports player's bodies after retirement - some stay superfit, but a big group go in the complete opposite direction).

(I am speaking from experience here - I am a bigger guy who lost 20kg in 6 months with the right motivation, PT and just some small diet changes... once that stopped though, I put that back on over 1-2 years).

I'm happy to keep hoping for a good outcome, rather than wanting a player axed before he's even played a game for us. I've been looking forward to us having Brown, Daicos and Kirby on our books and vying for a senior spot this year, as we've really lacked small forwards in recent times. I want to see as much competition for places as possible, removing a player from the list cuts back on that.

Not fit enough for seniors espeically in 2017. It's not the 1980s were you could afford to be like that. Would be a remarkable turn around if he can get fit and remain fit. Imo it's not going to happen.

Different people have different genetics. To assume a correlation between an athletes size/physical appearance and their professionalism is fundamentally flawed.

Genetics is not the issue, it's motivation.

Can we just have Daics and Moore follow him around and eat his pies for him? Premiers 2018.

Can you name 3 good players today that carry excess fat?

This may turn out correct.
It's just sometimes it comes across as being very cold, of course we are only reading the words and we can form wrong conclusions of intent.

Maybe I'm just different but if we are selecting them in the draft may as well give them some time as who knows the penny may drop.
He's a baby in real football terms not blessed yet with maturity.

Hope it works out if not at least I'll see him out the door with some politeness and good wishes, but I accept we are all different

True that it's a shame but it's not the end of the world - he hasn't lost a leg or anything! Give the boy some time and let's see where he's at come mid to late year!

Personally i'd love to see him turn things around and get fit because i'd love to see some indigenous X factor hanging in the forward pocket ala Leon Davis (still one of my all time faves)

What premiership players like Tom Hawkins, Jaryd Roughhead, Shane Mumford or Heath Shaw?

Who in 2017 has a fat body like that playing seniors? Reminds me of Yarran and this guy is 18 and looks like a fat retired footy player that is going to play in the EJ legends match.

From my understanding the jist of it is that he will inform the club he's heart isn't in it or he can't commit to the professional lifestyle.

By mutual agreement the contract will be scrapped.

Happy to be proven wrong and for him to turn it around ala someone like Michael Walters, but that seems an extremely remote possibility.

Needs wiser heads to get in his ear, taking the easy way out is not in his best interests even if it all feels too hard currently.

It's very disappointing because the young man has an abundance of talent.
