AFL and Cricket is filmed in 4K native for Fox 501/504 games produced by Foxtel (Test/ODI for Cricket, Fox exclusive AFL games). Ch7 feed for Foxtel is upscaled (BBL and Ch7 AFL games).

As from start of 2023. The Channel 7 produced AFL games were very much in 4K on Foxtel. So it will be very nice to see this available on Kayo.

Was it an easy process cancelling your original kayo subscription?

I'm starting to look around for alternatives to Kayo.

To be honest, I barely watch the footy on it, and more use it to watch the ESPN channels and docos.

I was with Fetch TV before, which was limited in Sports offerings, but cheaper and had access to ESPN app streaming.

Before going back there, I'm starting to try out the IPTV providers on the net. Some buffer a lot, but I think I might have found one that buffers very little (still more testing to be done).

A disaster for UFC fans.

I have NBA League Pass, NFL Game Pass and NHL.TV for my US sport fix. Works out cheaper with a year-long sub.

ESPN's NHL/MLB coverage are limited and they have dumbed down their NFL/NBA coverage with Australian content instead of the full American content.

Sticking with Foxtel for my footy, horse racing and cricket.

What sort of cost increase would you be looking at over the period of a year for the new arrangements, if there's one PPV event every four weeks?
I think it's less about cost, and more about convenience.
The events were still PPV even through UFC Fight Pass and Fetch TV, but if you already have Fight Pass for the other UFC stuff they offer, or Fetch TV which has ESPN for other UFC events, then it's easier to get it through those providers rather than another one.
And it's not as if you need a Kayo subscription to get PPV anyway; you just need a Kayo account, so it's not like you have to buy another service to get UFC PPV if you don't want to.

4k coming to Kayo in March.

very unlike foxtel. im surprised they didnt leave the plans as is and try charging an extra $5 or $10 a month for 4k.
In a way, they actually they did; Basic is now $35 (up from $30). Same number of screens (2), but now with 4K support.
New pricing starts 14th so may still be advertised as $30, I made that mistake earlier.

Thanks, I thought so!

Was $35/mth right?

Why on earth remove it. campaigners.
To stop people from sharing it between 3 mates I'd say

Normal 2 screens are up to $35 now too, so 3 would've been $45 by now (still far better than forcing 35+35)

Fox might be cheaper if you have 3 or 4+ screens tbh, I think you still get Foxtel Go or Now (whatever its called) included to be able to stream away from home

Foxtel Now is the internet TV version of Foxtel. Use to have its own app, but that got merged into...
Foxtel Go, which is the app/service you use to watch stuff on Foxtel or Foxtel Now via phone or Desktop.

Say what you will about the name 'Kayo Sports', but at least it didn't add to the confusing mess of Foxtel-named products and services.

$35 per month is a rip off. Mine always buffers.

As I understand it for those on the $25 per month HD package, the price will be unchanged. It's those on the $30 package who will get $4K with it whose subs will rise to $35 per month.

The buffering might have more to do with your IP speed than Kayo. Kayo did have issues 6 months or so ago but that has been sorted in my experience.
