Re: Kyabram District FL

When I use this ;) i am trying to get across that what I am saying is in fact in jest/to be taken with a grain of salt/not to be taken too seriously(the person i was replying to i'm sure took my comment as that.
Anyway honestly! if milky played Full Forward for the next 10 years, didnt have too many more injuries and looked after himself by putting on another 10-15kg, yes he could get 100 goals in the KDL more years than not, could he be in the Meka, Loveless category, no, although he could put on a show for the crowd like those blokes. Your question does he have that sort of potential, yes.

Its all good:) :thumbsu:

Re: Kyabram District FL

Hey doona just wondering what you think the loss of Tom Butterworth will do to the morale at Yea and also can you shed some light on the cancelled clearance of Adrian Wilson, is he going or staying at Yea...

The club is always bigger than the individual but in saying that I aint seen many a bigger personality at a club than Tom Tom. For such a young man he has achieved so much, contributed so much off the field and been ever so loyal - but perhaps nows the time to wonder off for a season rather than hit 30 and ask himself "what if." Both on and off field he will be a massive loss, but Im 100% positive that in a year or 2 or 3 the Yea Footy club will be the sole beneficiary of the exercise.

I've no doubt that Tom's friendship is one I'll appreciate for a long time due to his abilities to make outsiders feel like locals at Yea and whilst I haven't spoke to Tom for 3 weeks, when I last did I wished him every success and fully respect his decision to have a look for a season or two.

What many of us are hoping is that like others before him, Tom can get away and learn a few things from other clubs and league that down the track can be brought back to make the Yea Footy club an even better place.

And the beauty of it is that unlike many other clubs that carry on at clearance time, Im sure Yea have wished him well and more importantly left the door wide open for the day he returns.

Bit long winded, but I just loved my 4 years at Yea like people wouldnt beleive and quality people like Tom Butterworth contributed majorly to that :thumbsu:

Dipper is away at present, unsure what he's decided.

Not at all but his presence both on and off the field will be a massive loss. How far off r u having everyone available?

I agree with 4 of your 5 tips, but i have a big query with Rushworth tipped to beat Violet town. how and why did you chose Rushworth? Last year Violet Town disposed easily of Rushworth with a lesser side than the one named tomorrow. Im tipping Violet Town to win by over 6 goals. And maybe Gigarre as a smokey against Ardmona for a bit of value.....

Had several really good looks at Rushy last year and reckon the yung blokes will be up and running early before the long season sees a reliance on the older heads (will play finals).

As I suggest it could be one of only a few VT losses, due to the new faces coming in, and it can at times take a week or so to gel as a team, thats my opinion only for i think they will finish top 3 IMO.

Checked out the Swans team, looks pretty solid on paper, maybe all the talk a while back may prove ok and see the swans more competitive in 2007.

Re: Kyabram District FL

thinking there will be a couple of easy wins this week stanhope, ardmona, tally, & undera should be too good for their lesser quality oppponents, whilst Avenel & Violet Town in tight contests

Yea and Avenel to be a close game before the swans win a close 1.
Rushy to win by a small margin with there forward line the key with J Perry, Clarke, Lynch to be to quick for Violet towns backline with the rest of the games being very much 1 sided.
Stanhope to win by 20 goals with Pearce to kick close to 10 goals
Ardmona by about 20 with Meka to kick 10
Tally to beat Nagambie by 15 goals as well
Undera to win by 25 goals if they have close to there best team. Merrigum maybe be worse than last year i think.

Excuse my ignorance but where is Tom going??? He was a gun player and loyal clubman played a lot of footy against him a great competitor will be very sadly missed - massive loss for YEA

Re: Kyabram District FL

Can anyone tell me how Violet Town and Rushworths grounds are holding up - I'd imagine very hard and dry at the minute????

Re: Kyabram District FL

For those unaware the PDFL has taken on four Coreen League teams in 2008, making 19 teams wanting to participate in one comp. It will be split and as long as a minimum eight teams are in each div, everything sound work.

If the KDFL were to take on board the BDFL as well as Alexandra and Thornton-Eildon, it would make 21 teams wanting to compete in one comp. Again split it and see how you go.

In our case the PDFL will oversee both mini leagues (own finals, medals, ladders) if teams need to swap between groups it can be done in house.

Would this work? I remember a few teams over the years struggling with juniors but the KDFL currently play 16 a side 3rds, if a few sides cant field a 3rds team then so be it, but I am sure a few will!

Northern: Ardmona, Girgarre, Lancaster, Merrigum, Murchison, Rushworth, Stanhope, Tallygaroopna, Undera

Southern: Alexandra, Bonnie Doon, Goorambat, Longwood, Swanpool, Tatong, Thornton-Eildon, Violet Town, Yea

Nagambie and Avenel could be given the choice as to where they would like to go.

Abley 3 weeks
Hayes 3 weeks
