Re: Kyabram District FL

was impressed with you guys on sat, one little thing upset me though hanson number 30 is your coach right?
the way he spoke to you blokes out there on the ground was a bit dissapointing i thought pointed i thing you out for a couple of shot on goal when on the run. i agree with him giving you a bit of a spray but not when he is ready for a ruck contest and you are playing up forward and copping it 30 metres away and a young bloke went up as a third man up in a ball up at the clubrooms end of the oval and he went *******,
i just think it could have ben a bit more discreet, people dont want to hear that at the footy,
any who thanks for the game looking forward to playin you blokes at vt and maybe a couple of quiet ones after it cheers

Re: Kyabram District FL

As the scores suggest - a pretty even contest between VT and Rushy on sat. Could have gone either way, but the towners got there in the end. They have plenty to be excited about - played a pretty good band of footy, have some good sized targets up forward and plenty to rotate thru the midfield.. Not sure if these blokes got in the best, but I was pretty impressed with Pat Horsbourough, Rob Saker and the young blonde headed ruckman (name escapes me). Highlight of the match for me though, was bodzy running from the backline, then kicking a half floater/torp along the ground about 30m, then clearing the ball out again and repeating the dose.. Hate to be a forward trying to mark one of those puppies..:thumbsu:

Couldnt agree more on Bodz's kicking, some said he racked up 40 possies but no wonder,he would kick to you guys then you guys would kick it straight back to him.He said he wants to play forward but not sure on his conversion rate though. The young bloke was Paul Enright who didnt play last year due to injury but goes ok.
Rushy to be congratulated, great blokes, great game and played in fantastic spirit all day, hope to see you guys come finals time...:thumbsu:

PS what happened to the beer after the game Tav

Gig should be able to take a lot out of this win and try and string a few together.[/quote]

hey guys just some feedback and i no it is only round 1 but would girgarre be regarded as top three material or Ardy falling of the pace this year

not sure about top 3 material but i know the boys are looking forward to more success then the last few years....

Re: Kyabram District FL

I currently play in Melbourne, but trained with Gig last tuesday night.
I noticed they got up by a point which is fantastic. Speaking to a few boys on the night, they knew they where up against it playing Ardmona, but seem like all the hard work over the summer has paid off.

I had a close look at the Aboriginal boys they picked up and they are something... skills are second to none... can anyone who attended the game tell me who they went on the day? I just hope that Gig can hang on to them cos i am sure that teams like Ky inthe GV might try the poach them.

Gig should be able to take a lot out of this win and try and string a few together.

hey dekka... the boys carved it all day and i am sure they cant be lured by any other clubs.. they are here to stay...

Ardy will still be up there, they did have a few out from all reports, Lowe and Ferrari I know of. Would say Tally, Violet Town and Stanhope Top 3. Rushy and Ardy also thereabouts. See how Gig go against Rushy after the bye before they would be considered finals contenders, depth would be a worry, but hey can't do much more than knock off last years premiers first up, hey Sasha! Gee just checked up on the selected side and see your the bloody runner, wouldnt that be cutting into your drinking time too much?

Whoo thats getting a bit far Brz 16, Top three is gunna be tough and i think Finals will be a massive ask for the Giggy boys. I think more wins then losses will be more of a chance.

This is my pick for the final 5... 1 Stanhope
2 Tally
3 Violet Town
4 Lancy
5 Rushworth

Good to see someone out there is trying to keep a lid on it, but hey I'm sure finals would be the aim now, your right though if Gig's win/loss is even then they are back on track.

brz16, I am glad to here the fellas are there to stay... i really hope Gig have some success this season. They have struggled a bit over the past few years and I was wrapped for you boys when i heard you guys got up.
After training with you blokes last week, i could feel that you guys are a pretty tight knit group and if you can remain like that during the year and keep rocking up to training and keep putting the hard yards, i am sure you guys will gather a fair few more wins during the season.

if i recall correctly the coach copped a knee to the ribs and later let the player in question it was ok just get the vt ruckman next time

Re: Kyabram District FL

Gig would be more of a chance to be successful if they had some quality guys like u in there club dekka. A hard running wingman with genuine pace that loves to go fwd and kick a couple r easy to find, but one would think u r one of the kind... From what i hear the boys stepped up the pace when u strolled out onto the park last wk at training in ur famous nth footsracy jumper. It sent goose bumps down the hairy legs of the gig netballers when they ran passed in the warm-ups! How much did canavan offer u after training?

Good stuff Gig,winning form is good form, can only be a good thing for the KDL,lm tipping you will be thereabouts:thumbsu:

Re: Kyabram District FL

what about Undera they are a quality unit with a genuine full forward and a classy midfield and the formline of losing by a point to Violet Town a couple of weeks well runs pretty strong
The iceman predicts
1. Tallygaroopna
2. Violet Town
3. Stanhope
4. Undera
5. Rushworth
6. Ardmona
7. Lancaster
8. Gigarre
9. Avenel
10. Yea
11. Murchison
12. Nagambie
13. Merrigum

anyone in the Top 8 could make it but top 3 pretty settled although it wont be an easy road for anyone

I must say Bomber11, i did enjoy my run at Gig the other night and if i was in search of a new club in 08, Gig would probably be on the top if the list.
I did think long and hard about playing there is season, but a few of my close mates that have played there most of their lives moved over to Ky, so i stayed put where i am now.

Re: Kyabram District FL

Only drink sundays now mate, or if we win gotta keep the boys in line.
Great start long road ahead but ,like ya said things are on the up and thats all that matters, see what happens hey

Re: Kyabram District FL

had a look at avenel v yea on the weekend and have come away with mixed feelings. Avenel started like a house on fire and were approx 50 points up after the first quarter. but, they seemed to lose their way a bit and muck around with the footy in patches after that. great to get a win first up, great first quarter but disappointing that they didnt really bury the undermanned yea side. Also, i'm told that 5 senior players were missing from the side.
The recruits were solid without being spectacular, the real improvement from last year imo was the kids:eek: Scott Kanters & Joe O'Connor, both from 3rds last year turned it on and were both close to bog.
The Magoos won by over 200 points too so a bit of extra depth out avenel way could see them claw their way up the ladder.;)

how did the coach go????? jace carton

touché, you've got my number there Tav, unfortunately for my game it's quite a regular occurance throughout the year, rarely does it not come out once or twice during a match. I was just glad when Trotts sent a msg out for me to stop kicking out.....
I thought you guys were a very well drilled team and both teams were deserved winners but we got those last couple of goals at the right time.
I thought you were a standout for Rushy and was very impressed by your backline they were very quick to rebound the ball back into the middle.
That young ruckman your reffering to would be Paul Enright in his first game of senior footy and hasn't played for two years since thirds days...
