Went over to Rushy today to have a look at tha young boys in action and alot of promise was shown by tha boys today. Even tho they only came up against what looked like merrigums under 14 boys they still had some very good standout players that look like senior debut aint far away!
Michael Telford had tireless efforts at the pill all game and breaking tha lines well while midgetboy Darren Ried snagged a lazy 10!
See how they go this week versus Undera who have just come off a bit of a touch up by the unbeaten Stanhope!!
 
can anyone give us a run down on any other games?
pogo how about your game vs naggaz.
does anyone know if undera showed anything against stanhope?

We played Nagambie in a 14 a side game. Was fairly close throughout the match with Yea being down by afew goals at 3/4 time. After that Nagambie piled them on and Yea tried their hearts out but Nagambie were the better team. Josh Comi kicked 6 for Nagambie and Ben Robinson was their major ball winner and played well. We had 5 or 6 that stood up but thats not enough to win a match.

14 a side, that is a joke. you play 14 a side in praccy matches, not matches for premiership points. and with the 6 that stood up, isnt that near half your team

Yes it is nearly half the team, but its not many when Nagambie didnt have any passengers in their side.

Both teams had a spare man in the backline, no wings, 1 forward flank and we had a 3 man forward line. Very open running game as u would imagine. Didnt help that the ball weighed bout 35 kgs it was that waterlogged!

so whats the verdict, nagambie going to be finals contenders or through lack of numbers or good players going to fall out of contention?

I hav no idea if they have any desent players 2 cum bak or if that was there best squad. So its hard 2 say. But we were only missing afew key players and they beat us by 10 goals, so yeh i rekon they will giv it a shake this yr...

Emerson daines broke his leg against VT, Jimmy Ryan did afew ligaments in his foot against Girgarre in the 2s and Dylan Edwards got concussed against Girgarre also, so missed those 3 plus others who couldnt make it. 3 big losses too.

Yeah just on the Stanhope Undera clash. Early on i thort Undera would have got the points due to going in harder and taking it right up to the Stanhope boys but it turned out otherwise! Tightly contested first quarter with only a couple of kicks separating the two teams but Stanhope took in a comfortable 40 odd point lead at the main break due to a bit of undiscipline by Undera and smarter footy by Stanhopes ball carriers. After half time it was fairly even again but Undera didnt have a real great avenue to goal whereas Stanhope did and that was the difference in the end!

the murch boys might have the chance to get the 4 points in two encounters, one with merrigum, the other when they have the bye.
 
i hear gus macdonald and jack mcpherson are possible returns for VT this week vs. murchison.

i think lancaster thirds are getting on a good roll now. I think violet town are being a bit lucky this year and we'll start to slide

borgy we have played one good team so far (avenal)and they beat us mate, this week wont show much because only up against murch.
when we have played the majority of the top 5 we will no where we are at.
we could be a top 3 side or we could miss finals still.

you obviously don't classify lanky as a good team even though you got over the line by only 2 goals...interesting. we'll see if u rate the batters after the next time we play you.

i dont classify lanky as a top 5 team in my opinion from what ive seen you might hve improved i have no idea pal.

Geez mate you must have high standards of a top five. My opinion is that lancy will be up there and could even make the big one. Played lancy in a praccy match this year and showed they can play good footy.
My top five in no order.

Avenel
Stanhope
Violet Town
Ardmona
Lancaster

Who would your top five be???
