Nope just an opposition fan who is enjoying the irony of a campaigner club at the trade table not improving and stagnating.

Karma is a wonderful thing.

Thats all. Nothing for you to whine about.

bra nobody knows what you are talking about did we fleece you for Brad Ebert 15 years ago or something get over it

Hinkley is safe as houses.
Can't sack him while he has Port in the top 8, especially when he has a finals clause in his contract.

Bro the guy is a troll he's all over every Hinkley thread.
Hinkley had the six month payout clause removed from his contract, along with having the finals clause added to it.
Why else do you think Port haven't been able to get rid of him?
That's before mentioning the fact that Hinkley's wife isn't too fond of the club, either.

Hinkley has won 2x AFLCA Coach of the Year awards.
He was also quite a successful coach in the local league, having coached Bell Park to a premiership in 2003.
Just hasn't been able to quite get it done at Alberton, having been so close multiple times.

Mark Thompson, John Worsfold, John Longmire and Luke Beveridge are the other coaches to have won the award twice.
Ken Hinkley is in pretty good company.

Damian Hardwick has only won it once. Alistair Clarkson has never won it. Shows about how much it's worth.

Hinkley had his contract extended in August 2023.
This is despite having being coach at Port for a decade with no silverware to show for it.

because port adelaide are run by a team off fools.
that morning show halfwit making the calls, I feel sorry for the loyal pt.adel members.
I wouldn’t say fools.

I would say that the board is there to setup the football department to win a flag, and run the business as well as possible.

And the Port Adelaide board are too focused on the latter, and hopes that “close is good enough” on field.
Hinkley represents “close”.

but 'close is good enough' is not good enough.
ken should of been sent packing after the 21' humiliation vs the dogs in the finals. Pt.adel use to be a ruthless organisation.

Yep, we all know that. It's infuriating watching our once great club fall into this mediocrity because it is more marketable to sponsors and casual fans.

Sure our finances are finally good but now we have an unaccountable corporate organisation and not a football club accountable to its members.

You are going to be wanting to barrack hard for Hinkley this week because if we lose IT'S OVER and you'll need to find something new to troll us about.

Would be a good appointment. They’re gonna be dogshit for two to three years while they fix the list, a young coach will just be chewed up and spat out like so many have been (and like Yze is being now). They won’t survive it.

Hinkley can guide them through that period, his experience will be good and they can look to move on with the list in place.

Ok obviously Ken isn’t likely to be a flag coach barring another Dogs 2016 tier run & his time has passed considering the same issues arise at Port year after year.

But why is Josh Carr seen as the messiah? Is he not mostly a Hinkley disciple ? And not like his time as an assistant coach stack up to the Hardwick/Bevo/Simpson Hawks assistants who were highly credited in helping win flags.

I feel like a handover/insulated progression without doing a full process is not the way to go these days.

Obviously impressed a lot of people but assistant coaches tend to get momentum as being good despite no one really knowing - it’s just a bit of smoke & then everyone who wants to be seen as clever & in the know then yells fire.

Don’t think Carr is necessarily the messiah. I’d much rather have a go at Buckley.

I think it’s just that Port fans would be happy with anyone to take over from Hinkley.

Carr had a solid record taking a low tier team in the WAFL to a premiership and was hyped up as an elite coach from his days over in the WAFL more than just randomly now.

Also known to be a far better tactician of a coach which we solely are missing. Ken has full reigns and is a great motivator but a shocking game day coach.

All in all it’s more just hope with Carr and any change is better than none. Especially given Hinkley has broken the record for most games coached without making a grand final. Basically everything has changed, full turnover of a list, 10+ assistant coaches but Hinkley as the only constant for 12 years hasn’t been able to do much as a coach.

He’s been found out on game day so many times and is stable but incapable of change.

At some point the only constant has to take some of the blame for a good enough list not even making a grand final let alone winning one.

The record as coach is around 56% win rate but he’s:

41% in finals
0% in prelims
45% in showdowns
17% against top 4 sides
33% against top 8 sides
27% against former assistants (they know Ken can’t adapt his game plan).
35-3 against North/GC/St Kilda

Think the fans would be happy with a player coach over Ken to be honest.

Probably best for both sides to have a change after over a decade of the same coach, 100+ players having been coached and 15+ assistants with 0 success.
