Shame he couldnt have squeezed out one more game and got the send off he deserves against the old foe in front of a huge saturday arvo crowd at the G.

Totally agree, the great players deserve a sent off game and i hope that this type of finish does not befall Hird, Bucks and Harvey.

Anyway...

there was a game we played against Carlton - I think in 2000? - and Kouta absolutely cut us to ribbons, almost singlehandedly. He was everywhere and played amazing football - sometimes you need to see even one game like that to know what all the fuss is about.

Fantastic player, lovely person from all you see - and quite the dancer. All the best to one of the good guys in retirement.

Wasn't that some game. IIRC, 38 disposals, 11 mark and like 5 goals. One of the best games by an individual I've ever seen.

also in this day and age of drugs and alcohol causing afl players to act as ********s kouta has always set a fine example on and off the field.
