Probably the most important player! Was a big loss for the big day last year. Hopefully he can get up for the last bit of the year. The silent Swans! Hopefully Neville can get out there at some stage.

I don't use the word GUN unless the player is and Neville is certainly that !really felt for him when he went down at lancy in that finalThe silent Swans! Hopefully Neville can get out there at some stage.
Pretty sad for the future of the club readinghttp://www.sheppnews.com.au/2017/02/22/75125/struggling-to-make-cap-fit . Thought Nick Brown was spot on .Did hear that Longwood are turning away players because they are out of points. Sad to see a club get punished for trying to get competitive. Situations like this were Longwood has to bring in a lot of players is where the points system lets them down..
I've heard Undera are one of a couple of clubs who are reviewing how and where their future lies ?They should just get them if it fits in the cap and have some cover if they get injuries if not a couple play in Reserves. But agree the old way of not having too worry about points or cap would have suited them better. Hearing Tally might land a couple more yet and Undera a couple as well to make them a touch more competitive than last year.

Agree and it is bazaar that more don't recognise it , including in head office. All clubs should be really. The current set up across the entire state is not sustainable
Reviewing how and where their future lies? Are you suggesting they are looking at folding?? Please fill us in on what u have heard?I've heard Undera are one of a couple of clubs who are reviewing how and where their future lies ?

Don't know I notice in the article that the kdfl operations manager is quoted as saying committees make the decision ?
Crazy to read in that article that Girgarre have also been given an extra 5 Points, I'd love to know the leagues reasoning behind it, do they really think they are on par with Longwood? Didn't they only miss the finals by 4 points last year??
I have never heard folding as being considered by Undera more so looking at what options are available to further secure there future .Reviewing how and where their future lies? Are you suggesting they are looking at folding?? Please fill us in on what u have heard?
Rumours like this contribute to the difficulty small town clubs face recruiting and regenerating their playing list!
It was only 2012 Undera played off in a grand final which was their 3rd appearance over a 4 year period following the 09 flag.
Struggle on field this year perhaps but far from shutting up shop!
Also goes on population, last I looked it was about 140, with maybe 3 players at the club who live within 15km of Girgarre, as longwood, Ardy, Undera, And Stanhope to a % not many locals play who still live in the town, ha ha maybe they should get 60 points

Rumour has it the 'committee ' haven't met for 18 months and as such have not decided on additional points or a players worth . So who is deciding ?I believe the reason Girgarre were awarded the extra was because of their extended absence from the finals. There is a Committee that meets to decide on any applications received that could be a Club trying to get more points or that they are trying to get a certain player for less points. Some on the Committee are employees of the Hub I believe. One system Ive seen used is for your Premiers to lose two points from the year before plus population plays a factor in the points and cap they are given. An example of this might be say Nagambie has 37 points and a cap of $85000, a Violet Town and Stanhope might have 40 points and $90000 while a Longwood would have 50 points and a cap of $115000. I dont mind it as currently as some have mentioned having Undera Ardmona etc on the same points as Nagambie doesnt make any sense.
Well if theyve lost locals in Gleeson and Winter Irving and they turn around and try and replace them with two 5 points they would be over under that model. We understand your anti the sustainability measures and Im not here to say they are perfect but most agree that some measures coming into place to stop unrestricted spending/recruiting was a positive.Rumour has it the 'committee ' haven't met for 18 months and as such have not decided on additional points or a players worth . I am not sure premiers Nagambie having another 6 points to add to their gf side(31 points) and everyone else having to reduce, is going to even the competition.
In fact it is hard to think it is going to do anything but reduce the ability of all other sides, at the time of introduction , to build a side to compete with them.
They wouldnt be over , they had 4 blokes play in gf who will loose a point automatically this year . Which brings them down to 27 and adding 2 players who carry 5 points , 4 more than those two you've stated they have lost puts them at 35 points. So they could also add a 3 pointer and still fit into 37.Well if theyve lost locals in Gleeson and Winter Irving and they turn around and try and replace them with two 5 points they would be over under that model. Let's hope so mate Remember when Devenish after winning 2003 and 2005 senior flags folded the following year Sadly There will be others hopefully tho not the lionsReviewing how and where their future lies? Are you suggesting they are looking at folding?? Please fill us in on what u have heard?

Nagambie are a successful Club no doubt but they havent won 10 in a row and the year before went out in straight sets so Clubs are competing with them. If they were spending 130k with unlimited points they may be that dominant so again Im happy for the Cap and points to be there. They wouldnt be over , they had 4 blokes play in gf who will loose a point automatically this year . At 43 this year and losing those two , they can add 4 x 5 pointers.
Please tell me how any other club could get near them if they did add that ?
I support sustainability measures , I don't support measures which severly reduce the ability of clubs in smaller communities, whose football clubs are vital to their communities , to compete .
Central Vic have got it close to right IMO.

Oh dear.....Doc that's twice in your last 2 posts that you have mentioned the cap & that you are happy with it & think it's a great move!!
I agree & think it's a great idea, but to be blatantly honest if you or any other KDFL supporter out there thinks that every club is following it to the letter of the law than you's are kidding yourself.....
The points system whether fair or not works on the basis that it's there in black & white for every club to see, it can't be jigged with & all clubs have hands tied following it's structure!!
The cap on the other hand is nothing short of a laughing stock! No one knows who's monitoring it, nobody knows who's spending what but EVERYONE knows there are some clubs out there already cheating the system to benefit themselves!! I already know 100% FACT (absolutely no rumour's here, all fact) that some clubs have already made under the table deals, side deals or sponsorship deals with player's they have recruited that won't or can't be monitored! I have personally been told of several of these deals & quite frankly am disgusted that clubs think it's within their rights to cheat the system to benefit their own needs.....
People think it's the players demanding big money that's killing country footy, well now it's the clubs themselves that are blatantly breaking the rules that are killing each other!
Unless clubs are to expose ALL player contract payments for every other club to see by Rd 1 then I see the salary cap as an absolute fluff by the governing body.....
