Gold Coast's midfield should tear Brisbane's a new one. Ablett, O'Meara, Bennell, Swallow, Prestia and now Martin, who supposedly was better than the Jaeger Bomb in the juniors? How will Brisbane stop them all?

Well we accounted for the first few quite easily.

Rich, Rockliff, Redden, Moloney, Raines smashed them last year. No reason why we won't do it again.
Adding Martin in will help them, no doubt, but you're assuming Brisbane haven't added in any talented youngsters. How on earth will Gold Coast cope with Aish and Beams entering the Lions team?

They will probably just feed of the turnovers from Rich, Rockliff, Redden, Moloney, and Raines

FREMANTLE

A very tough start followed by an easy finish, looks a bit like deja vu but at least the papers will be able to publish the same article.

Collingwood (ES) - If we are to finish in top 4, this is a game we have to win. While Collingwood should make the 8 losing Shaw should see them drop off a bit from last year.
Gold Coast (PS) - Will not be an easy game, but at home we will win.
Hawthorn (MCG) - Very tough game, if Hawks start the year slowly then we are a chance but more than likely a loss.
Essendon (PS) - As long as Ryder keeps his elbow's to himself then will win this one.
Sydney (SCG) - Another tough game, I would like to say it is 50/50 but if both teams are injury free Sydney will have to be the favourite. Let's hope Jetta is not back until round 6.

Fail - 2 Wins or under
Pass - 3-2
Good - 4-1
Awesome - 5-0

lol. That's why we've beaten Lyon the past 5 times, right?

Really solid contribution to the discussion. At least learn how to spell if you're going to troll.

Heh, what was wrong with what I wrote ?

Last year you guys turned the ball over a lot. Do that to the GC and they will eat you up as you don't have the pace to go with them if they start doing sling shot football from those turn overs. Don't ask a question if you are going to have a cry mate.

What's wrong with penciling in GC as a win? We've beaten them every time since QClash 1. As far as the first 5 rounds are concerned, anything is possible.

Hawthorn (Aurora) - Most likely a loss, premiership hangover? Loss
Geelong (Gabba) - Miracle on Grass 2? 50/50
Gold Coast (Metricon) - We should continue our domination over them. Win.
Port Adelaide (AAMI) - Two up-coming young teams. Should be a great game. 40/60
Richmond (Gabba) - With Leppa on board, will he be able to help us target the weaknesses in Richmond's game plan? 30/70
I actually think that Brisbane are a bit of a chance in R1. Not only have we lost Buddy, Guerra and Bailey but Rioli and Lake will be suspended and Jed Anderson won't play due to illness. Not to mention any injuries we pick up in preseason

Sorry mate, he'll be back closer to round 1 than round 6.

Essendon always start the season ridiculously fit though before tapering off later. Doubt that trend will continue with Thompson though unless the fitness program is unchanged.

Went to Colorado this season

I don't think it will happen but Round 1 can often throw up some odd results.

Its a tough fixture to start the year for Brisbane and they will probably not start favourite in any games (GC would be the closest) but they are at least a sneaky chance in all of the matches

I think we'll beat Richmond and Geelong, lose to Sydney and the game against North is 50/50 one.

So 3-2 or 2-3. We tend to come out of tough runs well, and haven't lost many games in a row for a long time, people tipped us to lose 3 in a row late last year when we played Essendon, Sydney and then Hawthorn and we came out 2/3 there.

I also think we could very well knock Freo off in round 1.

How do you think Richmond will go then considering you play the Gold Coast at home in Round 1? You guys are pretty shaky holding a lead, that is, if you do lead at all.

Pretty much. It's interesting that a number of posters are bullish about Richmond, with a lot of 4-1 predictions. Assuming that they're picking Richmond to beat Carlton and not Collingwood, it seems like bigfooty feels like those two losses to Carlton were aberrations. I'm not sure. I'll be a very happy camper if Richmond is 4-1, not only will it mean that Richmond won two of Gold Coast (which I'm worried about) Carlton or Collingwood but it also means Richmond banks some wins before playing some tough opponents like Geelong, Sydney, Fremantle and Hawthorn soon after.
But hawthorn are our bunnies :p

I would say that all teams know how to beat the opposition, its just if they 'can' do it.
