Well - it actually comes from "over 9000" as my preferred jumper number. That in turn comes from being attached to an off the books program under the auspices of the NSA, where we dealt with Unit 8200, part of the IDF. It gets tiresome listening to coked up 20 year old Israeli hackers wanting to flex every time they get near a keyboard - they turned Stuxnet into a goddamn nuke, where we had it working perfectly as an invisible aircraft carrier. I shudder to think what they'll do with Duqu 2.0 if they don't get reigned in. So, as a parthian shot, I was happy with any number over 9000; thus 9024, hence me > them
