Let's clear one thing up.

Was the final high contact free kick to Shuey...

Ryder put his hand up, but the eyes in the back of the umpire's head didn't see it.

It's kind of irritated me from that point onwards, this umpire actively looked for Ryder to nominate for the rest of the game.

Why did it take for that possession to happen you numpty.

We've been called for a few ruck infringements this year. There was one where Wines pointed at our ruck and the ump called infringement because he thought Ollie had nominated himself.

Yeah he's pritty easy to miss isn't he. Isn't it their job to look for the ruck? **** me dead.

I have moved on the free and am still filthy we let it get to point where we allowed an umpire to decide the game. What do they say in boxing and mma. Don't let the judges decide the fight. We did just that.

Really what is the point of this comment in a thread specifically about whether you thought it was a free kick? People want to discuss it and until this morning I hadn't seen a replay so wanted to see opinions on this. There are many threads where you can blame everything but the free kick.

Point is obvious, I don't care if it was a free kick or not and think it's a worthwhile opinion for the thread.

It's not. The comment has the potential to derail the thread and as a mod you should know better.

The thread specifically asks was it a free and your response is I don't care I want you to talk about everything that's wrong with the club.

Go to one of the threads that talks about that if that's what you want.

This, coupled with the Kennedy 'goal' that Howard claimed was touched and according to the guys on Triple M after the game was CLEARLY touched but because they didn't have enough time to go through all the angles due to not being asked to do an official review before the game was restarted in the first final that went to extra time...let's just say when Richmond win the flag, I'm not going to be in the least bit surprised.

If we're going to start a thread about an umpiring decision from last night, this is the one I want started. The Shuey free kick was a mistake, but an understandable one for an umpire who had to make a split second decision to make. But what sort of ****ing campaigner deliberately chooses to not even bother to review that call in extra time of an elimination final!?

That was the exact situation that the score review was bought in for. But that goal umpire decided that was the time to stamp his authority on the game, and it cost us a final.

Fine, I hope as a mod you apply the same standard of assessment to every single post in this thread that isn't in the affirmative or against the OP's question. I already see a couple of examples worthy of your rigour.

As long as you do. ;)

Correct.

The first 5-10mins of the first quarter, Not impacting the scoreboard in the 3rd quarter despite dominating and Impey being in the side cost us the game.

Can't argue with any of that. Trengove for Impey would have been worth at least 2 points more net. Hell Aaron Young or Jimmy Toumpas for Impey would have had us just fall over the line.

But the OP deserves more, and Impey didn't deserve to be put into a game he wasn't up to.

If there was a buzzword bingo game for "ways to lose a game", we somehow ticked all of them in one game. Apart from gastroenteritis. And my stomach is churning. Have even Richmond at their lol-est ever done that so comprehensively:

One poor selection
Poor start
Matchup mismatch
Slow tactical response(s)
Shocking accuracy
Random ump call against

What have I missed? :( We only had to get one of these right. Just one! Only one of these is a "fall our way" kinda thing we have no control over: the one some numpties are barking about, even if it was borderline play on call. Serves us right that having spat in the face of the footy gods they chose to try to teach us a lesson.

I too would like to know about the non 30 second call. Shockingly bad umpiring!

Didnit cost us no, but I'm jaded from geelong.

No it didn't cost us last night but....

The same time given to Charlie at Kardinia Park and we wouldn't, make that may not, have been playing an elimination final last night.

I'm not saying it cost us, I am asking why it wasn't okay on, live it confused me

This feels like a 'Right in front of me' Type thread. This free didn't lose us the game.

The free was called in real time and not on replay and I accept it for what it is. They got a free, kicked a goal and won. Sadly that is the way it goes.

So looking at the replay, LeCras in the first quarter placed the ball on the ground as 30 sec expired from when he got it. He should've been called to play on at that point. I thought I'd look at it again as I didn't really notice it at the ground, and yep it was another umpire mistake. Lucky he missed.

Is there any vision of this?
