13 for Baker and something, hopefully pick 21 wouldnt be a bad result, im sure the club knows the draft pool and if theyve decided the difference between 13 and whatever pick we get back isnt that significant then its all good

A lot of fans don't want him because of the cost involved, nothing more. He's a very good player with a lot of intangibles (despite taking the piss a bit, he offers courage and leadership, things we could use). He will walk into our best 22 and improve the team. But we're also rebuilding, his position is not a key need for us, we need high end draft picks, the idea of giving up 13 doesn't appeal, particularly as it helps another team that is competing in the same rebuild space as us.

For pick 23, most would do it in a heartbeat, though that pick still has some value in a deep draft. For a future second, even more likely. But giving up pick 13, we need something back and something with value or the feeling is it will set our rebuild back.

Baker's career stats are very similar to Liam Duggan's, both heart and soul players. Ask yourself if you'd be happy giving up pick 13 for Duggan.

Bro. You're over-rating draft picks. Liam Duggan was taken at pick 11.

Teams have gotten better at identifying AFL traits, but it's still a bit of a lottery at the end of the day. You've got Essendon taking duds like Tsatas at pick 5. There's no guarantee whoever gets taken at pick 13 will be a quality AFL player. Baker is. Duggan is. It's pretty simple.

I'd imagine with the trades/free agents West Coast bring in, they won't be flush for list spots.

Baker and 41 for 13 and 59 is a possibility. That 41 will come in a lot with bids, etc.
