DAMNIT. My girlfriend broke her right ankle a month ago so I know exactly what he's about to go through. That sucks! Probably the best time to do it though, coming into the end of the season. Means he'll be right for a full preseason next year, barring any setbacks (god forbid).

As sad as it is, was never going to really feature in this years campaign... if Jack was to be rested next week he might have got a run but come week 1 in Sept I reckon he would have Bean back out again.

Has shown PLENTY and will be very exciting to see him push into the best 22 in 2014.

Rest and recuperate Mr Bean - & we really should get in early to sponsor this fella next year.

That's terrible news - my highlight from yesterday was him walking past us outside the g- he was dressed in Richmond shorts and polo with a Richmond backpack- he looked like a 202cm little leaguer - it was hilarious

Disappointing news for the big fella. To be honest, aside form our first finals campaign, McBean has been the biggest positive for me so far.

On a positive note, it means he can spend a bit more time in the gym, working on his strength etc. instead of being on the training track.

The initial stages after you get out of hospital with a broken ankle are incredibly frustrating. Simple day to day tasks become far more difficult and exhausting, so I feel for the kid and thats all I meant. Obviously his recovery is going to be aided by having the best medicos at his disposal.

Very sad news to hear. McBean has been in great form at VFL level, kicking bags of goals. He will be disappointed after being so close to making his AFL debut. Now he can focus on building up his weight and strength. Imagine how good his AFL debut could be after a full pre-season as well!
