Malcolm Blight coming on board at the end of 2000 and straight delisting our full back Shane Wakelin for no apparent reason was a mind-boggling one as well.

Played FB for Collingwood for the next 8 years, including the two GF’s against Brisbane, while we had to play a bunch of different guys there because of the hole he left.

Peter Bell was delisted at Freo for being too slow after 1 year. Played 123 games and 2 flags at North (1 the next season). Got traded back for a King Ransom but the investment has paid off long term. Clubs can fix their mistakes.

The delisting is very strange. Stocker must have really pissed offand or dissappointed people at Carlton. Any off field issues?

Just dont understand why they wouldnt try and trade him, even for a pick upgrade.

As baffling as how the Eagles let ex pick 13 Brander go for zip after going public and pretty much saying he held no value.

Just weird.

I think that this season confirms that Brander had no draft currency.

Never got up to baseline with his fitness and I think this was the reason for his delisting moreso than his attitude towards teammates.

Started at a ridiculously low base. I remember him basically just walking laps in his first pre-season because he couldn’t sustain sprint efforts during drills.

We took him as a midfielder but could never play him there due to his shocking tank, and had to play him as a close checking back pocket in the games he did play.

Reckon he will turn it around and make a good fist of his next few years and hopefully beyond. Has too much talent to be out of the system already.

Yet if so many TAC Cup teams are encouraging arrogance and a figjam attitude. Cutting the quiet is an easy option.

Maybe the penny will drop and he will turn it around. Has for plenty. But seems to make sense why he was cut. Not going to make it in many midfields in the modern game if you cant run

He was 'last' in the group of good runners. If you combine the two groups we had run, he would have been mid pack.

He doesn't have it. Just doesn't have the ability. He could train all day everyday and will never have an AFL midfield engine
