No, we now have the Libs appointing all their business buddies to cushy jobs instead.

All major political parties in the world will appoint their mates and those that get/keep them in power to high paid jobs. Abbott sacked the Labor ones when he was elected to appoint his own.

Now what was that about glass houses? Because the Libs are just as corrupt as Labor and to think otherwise is jsut niaive.

No doubt both like their mates in control, as would anyone as they have the same views and values as you, which generall means compatible strategic directions. And no doubt both make some shitty decisions in regards to whether they have a conflict of interest and what entitlements they can claim.

However, Labor has taken corruption to a whole new level recently. Thompson stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars of union funds. Gillard setting up illegal slush funds for union boyfriends. NSW Labor arguably is responsible for the largest corruption by an MP in Australian history (and they're still defending their mates).

Though, maybe I'm only remembering recent history and there is a lot more in the past from the Liberals.

Gillard hasn't even been charged with anything and Thomson is yet to face the music, time will tell if there is any proven corruption there, the f*ck up that is the NSW ALP, I will grant you. Victorian Liberal government is only in power because they are accepting the vote of a man who has been charged with defrauding the state whilst in office. For mine that's on a par with Thompson and Gillard combined.

I don't like governments that accept tainted votes. I appreciate the concept of innocent until proven guilty but I also think it is appropriate for senior officials in government, business or other organisations to stand down until the legal process has run its course (in most cases).
