It should go without saying but seeing as she's a bit of a beacon for controversy - for a variety of reasons - let's just remind ourselves what the board rules are around racism and sexism, shall we?

Yeah, the American/Murdoch style sportification of politics really does provide cover for the expression of some of the more appalling values people hold along the lines of racism, sexism etc.

There are few perfect victims. Dismissing something as serious as sexual assault allegations out of hand due to party affiliation, personality and so on, suggests it's worth looking inwards about why you (the universal usage here) may respond the way you do.

But even if many knew, or had an inkling, about Van (which I think.is the case), they couldn't bring themselves to accept Thorpe's claim. Because she's a "liar"... and not a white Liberal female senator.

Probably cheered her on when she used Parliamentary Privilege to accuse another Senator of sexually assaulting her, then later on took it back.

Surely the Senate has to sanction her - though for her supporters that will just be proof that she is a champion fighting against the system, rather than a moron flog who clearly is out of her depth and has no actual idea what she is doing.

She should apologise at the least for taking it back.

Why was a special crew called in after hours to"clean" the entire area?

She's not a nutter.The nutters are the far right wing politicians who ignore climate change ect.
That's what parliamentary priviledge is for, to reveal the truth without fear of being sued.She was proved correct and now a sex pest has to go away. What's wrong with that process?
