It's an interesting issue because in the AFLW there's a greater differential in strength between the player while at the same time there's less force behind the sling tackles to cause lasting damage

Something she'll have to learn from
I was surprised she was suspended as there didn't look to be much in it IMO. But I suppose the action is what they're trying to eliminate.

With another Lions ACL and a number across the women’s comp I hope some resources might be considered to investigate whether women are more prone to ACL injuries. Maybe it just seems that way.

It is a terrible injury for professional sportspeople, especially for players who have them multiple times. Nothing on the scale of CTE, and small fry compared to other major medical ailments affecting millions, but still worth better understanding as much as possible about the causes and possible ways to reduce the incidence of it occurring.

I know there is a thread on the AFLW board about on this topic, with links to research.

From my limited understanding, women are more prone to ACL injuries.

Are ACL Tears Really More Common in Women?.

Anatomically, men and women are not created equal. The female pelvis is wider, which changes the mechanics of how the thigh bone, tibia, and femur function, says Dr. Gardner. This puts more stress on the soft tissues that support your joints, she explains.

According to research, an ACL tear is one acute injury that female athletes are two to eight times more likely to experience than males. The ACL, a ligament in the knee that connects the femur to the tibia, is extraordinarily strong, yet has little elasticity, Dr. Gardner says.

Two changes for the game against Collingwood. Annalea McKee and Caitlin Wendland in for Poppy Boltz and Jade Ellinger both dropped for disciplinary reasons.

Very disappointing especially regarding Ellinger who has shown a lot of growth this season. I would hope it is a learning moment and just a once-and-never-again thing for them. The high standards are important even though our chances are maybe hurt a little.
