Lions = Over-rated

You might be a better team once Brown leaves.

It did North wonders in 2007 when Thompson went down.

Get what you deserve for him, and who knows.

Cant agree with that, we need skilled midfielders who can hit a target by hand and foot. We need more from our ruckman, we need to kick straight.

Despite how poorly we have played in recent weeks we have been in a position to win every game we have lost.

Has anyone rated the Lions after 2004? I think they're an average team at the moment, they do play well some weeks, but overall nothing special. I don't think you could expect much more from them, really.

And despite criticism I copped when making this thread, I am still standing.

As disappointing as it is to see my own team fumble, at least we'll be better next year.

Need to get some skills though to be a genuine threat.
Respect mate for having the nuts to admit your team just isn't good enough at the moment, unlike some other delusional Lions supporters on this thread with unrealistic expectations.

Even with skilled midfielders - we don't have the depth to win through to a GF with Brown in say the next 2 years.

Braddles and Brown are beginning to get on - I'm afraid I just cannot see the current crop being a genuine flag threat in the next 2 years. That would mean Brown would be 30 and Braddles 32! I think its a bit much to expect 2 key forwards to tear shit up at that stage in their careers.

This year was about seeing where the majority of our list was at - and I think a few of our current best 22 aren't good enough. That means any player who is the wrong side of 27 or so becomes trade bait. IMHO anyway.

Brown and Bradshaw are two great targets but they kicked 5.2 and 5.1 respectively, had a great night in front of goal yet the side kicked 11.18, it is too much dependency on 2 guys for the score.

We have our own issues, not really motivated to solve the Lions' problems as we have a hard enough time getting over you lot as it is. :p

Our position has consistently been missionary. We need a cleanout. Matthews has lost the plot. We have no idea. Disgraceful capitulation to negligible pressure.

It's interesting, reading over this thread how the consistent theme is Lions' fade-outs in the last quarter.

And that happened again tonight. Where there is smoke, there's fire. I think we have some serious deficiencies.

congratulations you can bag your own team on the main board, and have nothing to say when we are performing.
what a hero:rolleyes:

I beleive your insights are over-rated. Come and chew the fat on the lions board!

Shame on everyone for overrating us. ;)

People were complementing Brisbane and Port Adelaide last year for their ability to rebuild on the run after years of success... looks like that theory has been shattered this year.

Very hard to stay at the top on the socialised AFL. We need a gun midfielder with our first pick this year, that much is clear.

You were one of those people. You said that Brisbane is a top 8 team when it is clear that they are not. ;):thumbsu:

You are probably one of the Brissy supporters who called me an idiot when i said they wouldn't make the finals.

Don't worry mate when you wake up tomorow it won't hurt as much. :thumbsu:

at the time it was a ridiculous assumption to say we were going to lose to all of the dees, tigers, roos and bombers in the space of 6 weeks.

if you make enough outrageous predictions sooner or later one is going to be right. doesn't mean it was clever insight.

Care to quote which of my predictions have not been right. Go through my posts champ, they have all been on the money.

The fact is Brisbane were never a top 8 team and it was only a matter of time before they fell in a heap.

It was hardly an outrageous prediction. It was just a matter of bandwagoners overrrating them on the back of some half decent performances at home.

EDIT - even better why don't you take a look at the fantasy betting thread and see how my predictions are going. I think you will find that i am right more often than not.

There are very few things certain in life ,death, taxes and 'Sausages' bumping he's shallow thread after every lions loss.

While every lions supporter are devastated in the demise of their season, the first thing that pops into your head is to defend some irrelevant thread and argument that you made months ago.

Naturally every side's supporters have the odd nuff nuff that proclaims after are early season victory that they are serious contenders. But have their really been so many that you feel it necessary continue to bump this amazing 'prediction' when your fellow supporters are obviously bleeding?

Point me to the lions consensus that throughout the season how provided you with such opposition to your argument that you continue to grind your axe so many weeks after your OP.

Point me to the lions consensus that have argued anything other than that the lions are a middle of the road side that are very capable on their day yet capable of rubbish the following week.

Unfortunately your attempts at a 'honest' and 'realist' attitude regarding your team wreaks of troll. As much as Iv'e tried to ignore your bumping of this thread throughout the season, my gut tells me that their is something fishy regarding your allegiances.

If I'm incorrect in my mudslinging I apologise for the accusation, however even if Im wrong, have some bloody passion for your team

i think you'll find in general it wasnt Lions supporters talking us up, most threads from june/july on the Lions board were apprehensive about the hype for fear of what would happen if the players started to believe it.

And i've missed 3-4 home games in about 10 years so labelling me a bandwagoner doesnt really work...
