PS: I'm back. Thanks to the anonymous mod for unbanning me after 5 years 2 months and 18 days. :thumbsu:

Interesting? An early release due to "good behavior".

Jack, coming out more hardened or more resolved?

The lunatics are no longer running the asylum. :thumbsu:
Obviously you've read the propaganda in the official glossy brochure. Hang around for a while for a reality check.

No need to "come out". Thankfully the guards let me use soap-on-a-rope. :D

Must have been a solid size soap Rip. to last for the duration of your exile.:D

Best punch up I've seen in ages. First time I've ever seen a player ejected from the game
Vultures will rue missed shots early. Gallant comeback in the last quarter but just didn't have the legs to go all the way to the final siren. They were pretty Lions-like too with their kicking efficiency. Was a bloody good game all up.

Was a pretty exciting match. Loads of supporters there, most going for "the 'siders". A few Lions were about looking on as well.

Anyone else get excited in the fourth quarter when Whitey took that snap at goal? It would have brought the Vultures to within 4 points of the Panthers but the ball spun awkwardly off the boot (tbh it was an ugly kick) and it hit the post. :( After that, the Panthers just continued to dominate and didn't seem to miss in front of goal. The crowd were pretty excited when they won.

For those who are interested, the final score was Panthers 94 Vultures 63. Sorry, can't remember the goals and behinds.

P.S. Anyone else see the laughable GC17 mascot, a chunky lifesaver, promoting their team at half time. I wish I had filmed him ducking away like a scaredy cat when the ball came towards him. LOL, there's so much padding in his outfit he would never have felt it! :p

The aforementioned Peter Yagmoor (or "Yags" to those in the know) will actually have the privilege of gracing the MCG tomorrow in the early, early game. He'll be a key member of the Qld. young scorpions side taking on NSW/ACT in the 2nd division final of the u/16 national championships. Go him! :thumbsu:

I have now played Yags three times in the last month. Yags plays for the Kenmore Div 2 Under 16's side, and I play for Springwood in the same division. Due to the way the finals worked, we played Kenmore in a semi-final, then again in the grand final (which we drew), and then in the grand-final replay the next week.

He is insanely massive up close. He can kick 65m, but if someone taught him how to kick with a proper technique, he could kick 70m+.

He is a great team player, from what I noticed out on the field. A ferocious tackler (I found out first hand), and incredibly difficult to tackle (which I also found out first hand).

According to the paper they have moved the under 16s games to Princes Park (I refuse to acknowledge the ground by the cartel's name ;)) to protect the MCG surface as it will be a wet day.

On a related note, it is sunny in Melbourne at this point in time...

Id say we've got a future lion here with this young chap. Hone his skills a bit more and we might have discovered a rough diamond.

Got to get him on the list though.

Won't Gold Coast be able to sign him as a priority selection in the next couple of years?

Future GC Lifesaver I think you mean... :(

Found it.

BRISBANE LIONS
B: Steven Baker, Daniel Merrett, Josh Drummond
HB: Luke Hodge, Jared Brennan, Sam Gilbert
C: Adam Simpson, Michael Osborne, Joel Macdonald
HF: Scott Lucas, Nick Riewoldt, Mitch Hahn
F: Jason Akermanis, Jonathan Brown, Marc Murphy
Ruck: Ben Hudson, Amon Buchanan, Nathan Foley
Inter: Tom Williams, Jamie Charman, Andrew Raines, Eddie Betts.

The Brisbane Lions team is filled with Queensland-bred players and the finest from Fitzroy’s old zone. The Roy boys had a country zone that covered part of western Victoria, bordering on football-strong towns Colac and Warrnambool.

The Colac connection is particularly handy when you consider it brings them Luke Hodge, Steven Baker, Amon Buchanan and Nathan Foley. Handy additions to any team.

Fitzroy also had a small part of northern Melbourne, wedged in between Collingwood and Carlton’s zones, while another handy patch was in Melbourne’s north-east, which gives them Adam Simpson and Marc Murphy.

The side has some of the best tall forwards in the competition and plenty of ruckman. In fact, so rich are the pickings that North Melbourne giant David Hale had to miss out.

Can you handle the thought of Jed Adcock playing for Carlton or Simon Black playing for Freo?

You could have taken Reiwoldt as a bottom ager at any pick, Osborne refused a rookie spot & tried out with Box Hill, Sam Gilbert was overlooked until 20, Andrew Raines taken 70 or so 2003,Ben Hudson was playing with Werribee after leaving Mt Gravatt, Tom Williams was taken as a top ager but hadn't played much football (still hasn't) at about 8 in 2004 so you are probably right on that one.
